Hello all I'm Hass or known as Hassney, this is my first ever post to this fabulous website. As you can tell I'm a "newbie" and I wanted to say Hello to you all, also to say thank you all for entertaining me over the years. I've just had the courage to become a member.

I've loved anything to do with Washing Machine's or Laundry since a very young age and I blame my mother for this lol. Though not a collector yet, I would love to do this in the near future. Though really I don't know where to start, hopefully maybe some of you guys can guide me through this.

Also just to let you know I have made a youtube page recently called THE LAUNDRY LAB. I've decided to make this page because I found it rather annoying having to search your favourite advert or adverts you completely forgot about and I wanted to create a page, where you can access the historic adverts in one place and I feel nothing like this has been done before.

The Laundry Lab contains UK/British adverts on detergents, fabric conditioners, washing machines/dryers and so on, starting from the 1950s onwards...
The Laundry Lab youtube page is however not complete yet, as I hope to upload more video's very soon and hopefully build up the history collection as we go on.

That shall be all for now... but if any of you guys would like to know more about me feel free to check out www.myspace.com/hassney... or www.youtube.com/hassney...

I hope to see some of you on The Laundry Lab.

Take Care
Hass :)

Hass, that has to be one of the most hysterical commercials for any laundry detergent I have seen in decades!! Thanks so much and welcome to one of the greatest sites you'll ever visit on line! I hope you're able to watch some of these older units in operation as well as view the many products that the collector/restorers here have openly shared on this post for all to enjoy.I am now playing with and hoping to bring to life a newer model of the Miele Touchtronic. I found it in a used appliance dealer's trash heap this past weekend.

I remember the advert for the hotpoint washer-dryer although I swore the clothes got out the machine and hung themselves up! Lots of childhood memories there. Thanks for posting!

Hi Hass,

my turn to formally welcome you to the site.

Thanks to for uploading all those adverts to one place! has made for great viewing over the last couple of evening, with some that i have never seen before coming out of the woodwork - love the 1984 New Generation advert, as well as the Colston 850XD advert.

all great stuff!

Paul

New Generation Ad is a hit!!

Hiya Paul, its a pleasure mate, really pleased to hear you guys are enjoying the ads!

It was a learning curve because some the adverts were made before my time or I was too young to remember them. I didn't even know Ariston was called Colston before they changed the name.

Hass :)

Adverts You Might See

Hey gang, if you see any UK Adverts, weather its detergents/fabric conditioners and so on that aren't on The Laundry Lab please give me a shout and let me know. Anything before 2001 would be good for the time being.

Thanks all

Hass :)

I clicked on the link in the first post of your thread, and saw washers and dancers and white fabric squares flying all arond, people up on a second tier, and finally young dashing men in white. Alas, it's now gone. It reminded of a current American TV show about a high school glee club. Can you tell me the title so I can see it again. Maybe your channel rotates vids or maybe my computer is having its way with me,Wink

Persil Automatic [Showstopper] Advert

Oh now I'm with you mickeyd, it was the video of the week. It gets changed every Sunday. But here is the link.

While on the subject, I was wondering why I can't put embeded video's on here? Do I need to upgrade my membership to embed videos?

I only ask this, because it save's alot of hassle for you guys having to click on the link.

Cheers ;)

You can embed them here, just put the longer link for embedding in the Message section, not in the URL Link to share section. Here's your video:

hey foraloysius, yeah you can only embed videos if you upgrade your profile...hence why I couldn't post videos on here before :)

Btw thanks Brent :)

Very nice!

Thank you for this, this is a real service.

Where are the 50s-60s black and white Persil ads? I'm particularly thinking of the one with Ruth Dunning on the first night of ITV. It's partially animated.

Welcome to AW.org, I hope you will be very happy here.

You've all been amazing.

Hi there Lawrence, your welcome. Honestly its no trouble at all glad to be a part of the community, everyone I've spoken too have been awesome so far. I'm happy to see we all have things in common so no complaints lol.

Regarding to your question, I shall keep a look out for the TV Ad for you. There's tons more in the hard drive waiting to be uploaded, but been a bit side tracked with other things, also I was meant to make a start this week, but for some reason my PC is not behaving its self, Technology eh! lol.

Thanks for your kind welcome :)

Hass.
