If you guys remember, I went here to get my Speed Queen commercial sets, well, I got the chance to get back there, my nephew wanted a stacked dryer, and I got permission to get a few pics of their vintage machines...had to get them fast, but I think I got enough to enjoy.....Phil is a great guy to deal with there, as are the other guys just as helpful when loading these machines.....

I may be wrong, but I thought there were vintage stoves there the last time I was there, some stuff was moved around.....wishing they were hooked up, would loved to have played with some of these, even that Hoover single tub with the wringer, interesting also was the Hamilton coin-op....never seen one like this

Hoover

It was a real surprise to see that Hoover there (looks 1950s vintage, judging by the handle) - we knew at least of a Canadian version of the previous model thanks to Paul/Turquiosedude, but now this later version. Makes me wonder if there could have been a power wringer version too.

I remember the BOCK....

philcobendixduo's profile picture
....extractor - I was 9 years old and visiting relatives in England with my Mum.
We went to a laundrymat and there were Westinghouse front loaders and then, clothes went into the BOCK Centrifugal Extractor (which I found fascinating as American laundromats had no such things - at least the ones I'd been to!) Being all of 9, I used to call it "centrifugical" instead of centrifugal.

Happy childhood memories!

Where is this place?

And who do I have to bribe to get my hands on those turquoise filter-flo's? Coin Ops with a bleach dispenser??? Oy. Feeling just a little faint.

The black & white wringer trio in # 5--STUNNING

Agreed: The Hami on her throne in front of the windows is wonderful too. Love seeing a Visimatic and next time you're there, turn the Drain/ Filter handle off. As Lyle says it truly is "wringer heaven." And the brown ghost next to the loaded Bendix is a real crowd pleaser.

But you mention picking up a commercial set and seeing about a stacked dryer for you nephew--what's up!?--does the museum sell stuff.

Fabulous fotos, Martin, thanks-------ahhhhhhh thaat Cahhhhper Easy. Sweet.

They ARE lovely. But don't you think they are bored? Particularly the Maytags, they were built to run and run...

Coleco, and I am probaby spelling it wrong.....is a major distributor of the east coast, supplying the military and laundromats, as well as hotels, and private laundries, with washers and dryers.......

they are located in West Chester, Pennsylvania......

the ones in the museum are mostly machines they have distributed thru out the years, NOT FOR SALE, and some are refurbished ones......

they advertise on CL whenever they have a shipment of machines where they have exchanged for new ones, and these machines are only a few years old, basically when the warranty runs out, their taken out of service....and new ones replaced....SQ TL washers and dryers go for 25.00 a piece, stacked dryers are 50.00.....only in electric....but super nice machines....theres a few guys on CL buying and reselling the sets for 400.00......nice little profit.....

here is a pic of a few I got before................the link is the ad for the stacked dryer

you have to call first for an apointment, Phil and his crew are great to work with....
