Finally getting rid of the Kitchen Aid KDC-60A that has been in a slow decline over the last year and picking up this dishwasher on Saturday....can't wait!

Michael, I think you will find that to be a much better cleaning dishwasher.  And with extended wash and the accu-temp options, it will scrub just about anything clean.

Love those Maytag dishwashers. This one looks to be from around 1994 or so. It'll clean anything you put in there. And they are pretty quiet too.

The last generation of the rock solid dishwashers Maytag put out. Great performance and reliability without all of the problems and recalls that followed with later models.

My friends mother installed one of these in'92 and it still performs like day one without a single repair in 19 years.

This model could be affected by the 2007 rinse aid dispenser recall. Check the Maytag website to confirm.

Apparently it's model number MDC4000 instead of the 4100. It's still in the car but I noticed it does have buttons for Pots and Pans, Temp Sense, and Heated Dry. It also has Quick Wash on the dial. Looks pretty good but I don't know what year it is.

the owners manual online at Maytag looks like it was produced mid-1991.

Hopefully someone can help me out. Finally got my dishwasher in the house and I had to spend 45 minutes pulling pieces of plastic out of the top and bottom spray arms with tweezers! I don't know if it is from gel pacs or just people that treat their dishwasher like a trash can, but does anyone know how to disassemble the arms so I can fully clean them out? I may have gotten most of the plastic out and it washes very well but I just want to make sure. I am also affected by the recall and they are coming out to fix the rinse aid dispenser. Thanks everyone...

There should be a nut on the center of each wash arm. You remove this and the wssh arm should come right off. You can then shake it out to remove all the plastic bits.
It sounds like somebody was washing something they shouldn't have in this DW.
