I was browsing over the new AEG-Electrolux series when I saw pictures of the dryers in the brochures. They changed the design! Lintfilter is no longer mounted on the door but under it! It seems also that the dryers are Whirlpool-Bauknecht products and no longer AEG designs. Am I dreaming or is this really happening?

They have already been out about a month now and I have even seen them in the shops already.
They seem very poor quality, cheap door and door boot, the dryer is also very flimsy. I do have to say that I like the look but a miele is far better.
speaking of which, they somehow tried to fake mieles honeycomb drum but it doesn't seem to have worked out very well. (see the picture)
My aeg 76850 is not that good quality either but that is not surprising when you know they are actually zanussi.
You just pay twice the price for the exterior which thanks heaven looks quite good.

Oh I dont think so!!! although never say never after the recent rumour of Electrolux Group / Hotpoint Indesit Group merger...

Electrolux have rebranded AEG as its PREMIUM brand after positioning it 2nd over the last few years, the launch of Protex series will signify this...

So Electrolux Group will promote

AEG - Premium Brand
Electrolux - MidPoint
Zanussi - Starter / Entry Level

Will be interesting to see what happens!!!

We have them on the floor, too. The drum is really big (70 liters) but yeah, it really looks like they were trying whatever they could to come up with "their" honey comb drum ;-) The dryer now has a 120 liters drum but, again, the special design/pattern looks useless.

Oh god no!

Drum reminds me of a hoover!!!

mixture of others..

Door is abit like Egg-looking (new Beko"s).. Dryer drum is exactly the same pattern as Candy"s top loading dryer.. dunno what to say about quality, because I haven"t touched them yet xD But they look good to me tbh! ;)

Chestermikeuk: what connection was there between Electrolux and indesit? :O

only the 8kg and the 9kg bekos have oval doors
and hay ho more electric shocks off the back of the drum in the dryer
long story short my aunts old broken whirlpool awz650 (now lives in my shed)had a grudge against me i used it and when it finished i caught the back of the drum by accident and ZAAAAAAAAP! i had a shocking expierance quite litteraly the back of the drum is stattic and the heater is mounted directly at the back of it and coz it's high voltage it shocked me, obviously coz it's unplugged it wont shock you if you touch the back of thr drum. i thought that theese protex machines had parts from haier bush hec haus, all that cheap crap mind you the electrolux corp has gotten worse over the years the poast 2008 modles and downwards are fine. ok sue me!, but this is my oppinon of the newer electrolux corp!
