Finally settled into our new house in Florida and have pictures of all the new appliances I was allowed to buy. Here is the front of the new house. We are pretty much surrounded by orange groves, but still 20 minutes from Disney World.

Here is the one side of the kitchen. We bought GE Profile at Lowes and got the $500 rebate for buying 4 appliances. This is the stove and microwave

And last the Laundry. My wife wanted the Whirlpool Duets. The washer does have the heater in it (Whitest Whites takes over 2 hours to run). The dryer has the steam cycle which she really did not want but came with it (now really likes it). We put the drapes for the windows in after removing from the packages and ther was no need to iron them, steam cycle worked great.

Thanks Terry, Thats my daughters KA. One of the reasons we moved down here is we had our daughter and son-in-law move in. We did not like the unsafe area they lived in, in Kissimmee. So we bought a big 4 bedroom house (twice as bid as our old one in PA) and we retired and had them move in with us.

Where is Ruskin in relation to Davenport? We are about 20 minutes from Orlando

Kiss Me Baby

My mother in law worked at the Perkins in Kissimmee and our oldest daughter worked summers at Disney World Many hours were spent there.  She moved back to the midwest in 2000 so I can't speak to the conditions now because the biggest threat to peace and tranquility then were Love Bugs and the potato chip sound they made as you walked through them or drove down the street.  I am glad you're in Florida and living the good life.  If I were to buy new appliances for myself they would be GE.  I never owned a range I liked better or used harder than the GE with convection oven and smooth top.  I currently have a GE dishwasher and bottom freezer fridge and they are good.  The capacity to cool and speed of making ice the bomb. Keep shooting pictures and let us know how life unfolds in Florida.

Mike, I am about and hour and a half south/west of Orlando!  If you are ever coming over this way let me know.

Your range is similar to the one I had in Texas. It had the dual speed/thermal convection self cleaning oven with 3 porcelain on steel racks and the storage drawer was a second oven.I really miss mine. The cooktop on the GEs is so well made and clean up is a breeze.I actually used Ajax cleanser and a scrubby pad to scrub the cooktop. Never a scratch and a year after I bought it, I had to sell it because I was moving here and it would have been too expensive to have had it shipped here. I paid $399 for the JBP83CECC which was marked down from $2400 at "The Great indoors" a store Sears had opened to compete with Ikea.
