Hi all,
Hoping that all you Hoover Logic/EcoLogic fans may be able to help me. I believe this machine was briefly mentioned on another thread. I bought this Hoover Logic Premier 1250 Washer Dryer A8576 just over a week ago, upon testing the machine after connection, I tried a test rinse cycle... Once it had filled to its required level, and it started rotating, to start off, it didn't rotate at the usual wash/rinse speed roughly 40-50RPM, it was more like 250RPM, the same as my Zanussi WJD1667W does in the Service Cycle. because of the rotating speed, it therefore was forcing the water out the drum via the dryer vent. The 2nd problem is, on the drying cycle, after the famous Logic clicking, it starts spinning, gradually increases the speed then emergency stops, and repeats this in the reverse rotation direction. Unfortunately I can't provide a video to show these problems as under my Dad's reccomendation not to switch it on as it may wreck the machine, which I dont want to do. The only things I can think could be at fault are either the motor, programmer/timer or a blocked pressure switch of which I've no idea is located within the machine. I grew up with an EcoLogic 1200 A3954 & matching D6722 dryer, the timer gave up in 2001 on the washer, which was why I suspected a possible timer fault. If possible I'd like to get it working properly again, so any suggestions welcome & greatly appreciated. Also I have three Hoover brochures, so if anyone's interested I'll be happy to upload the featured machines within the brochures onto the site on a new thread. If extra pictures of the Logic Premier or any of my collection are required/requested just email me, my email's in my profile within the website! Many thanks CJ |

Its a long time since I worked on one of these but I would have a guess its the PCB. As far as I am aware the timer would not have anything to do with the motor running too fast nor would I worry about the pressure switch as you said it reached its proper amount of water. Have a look for loose connections on the motor wire plug it may be something silly like a short.
Hope this is of some use am sure other members will have more ideas than myself.. Austin |
