My neighbor has a Whirlpool dryer that is approx. 10 to 12 years old. She says that her clothes are coming out with small black spots on them that looks like oil. She also says the dryer sqeekes occasionally while running. I think it might be a drum barring but would like to have some input on this. Thanks Everyone.
Bob

If she's using a built in agitator fabric softener dispenser, it may have a build up of goo that will cause spots to build up on the clothes it would have nothing to do with her dryer. If she's using a detergent with built in softener,it too can cause a build up of a tar like substance that will also leave spots on clothes. In the dryer, there's a felt strip that goes around its drum. If it's frayed,it too can leave dark spots on clothes. If it's the softener causing the problem, bar soap rubbed on them will get them out.
