toledo, ohio under "vintage washer" search.

but asking price is $2000.00 which must be typo! i just bought an identical machine here in cinti last week for 35 bucks and have never paid more than 50-100 for any of the 17 models i have! some were even given to me!

in fact the seller of the cinti machine i bought still has his ad posted! i can't imagine anyone thinking this machine could be worth 2000.00! 20 yes, even an asking price of 200 i could see (although i would not pay that) but 2000.00 bucks???

75.00 would be tops for me!

what is that you guys call it here? "antique shop" mentality where people think just cause something is old and outdated it must be worth a lot of bucks?!!?!
i saw a maytag wringer on craigslist last nite for $1000.00 and i have a guy at work who is selling me a maytag wringer later this year for 50 bucks! my other 2 wringers were both given to me! i am always amazed by what i see on craigs list and e bay!

As someone else here once mentioned, some sellers may be desperate for money which leads to asking crazy prices. When I'm selling something, I try to do at least some basic research to figure out a reasonable asking price.

As a potential buyer, when I see a wildly inflated asking price, my instant opinion of the seller is that he is unreasonable or uneducated about the item. Almost never do I decide it's worth the hassle to deal with an unreasonable seller, nor do I want to invest the time in educating an uneducated seller.

Some people may enjoy the third-world bazaar concept of haggling for hours with a seller to lower the price of an item, but that's not me.
