Hi guys,

I'm trying to get a new spin tube for replacement on an Ignis 6MALS143VW1 TL.

I've tried a few different places, and they're telling me that the parts are no longer available, and that the Ignis has subtle differences from the Whirlpool machines?

I dont think that this is the case, but can anyone confirm?

Regards

Nathan

It's possible, for a long time Ignis was a cheap Philips and later Philips/Whirlpool line. The brand still exists but recently I think we concluded they weren't made in Italy anymore.

Have you tried direct from Whirlpool?

I assume that this is an Ignis badged version of a top loading Whirlpool direct drive?

Just a wild guess, could the Ignis be sourced from Canada?(just looking for a reason for "subtle differences.")

Have you done a web search for that model?

Chris

Thats right Chris, its a DD Whirlpool.

Whirlpool have directed me back to agent after agent. I've found one so far who says yes the standard tube fits, and for $110 comes with a bearing and seal kit. So I'm going to get one of those and see how I go.

Not much has shown up on the Internet, its like a Roper in AU its a poor second cousin and no real info anywhere. The control panel is identical to that of a Roper, and it has a turquoise agitator with the lint filter.

Thanks for the reply, I'll see how I go, the machine looks identical to other DD Whirlpools I've worked on. Its just the brand that seems to throw service guys.

Regards

Nathan

I have a used spin tube with brake shoes attached, if you are interested. You do have to change the spring on it, depending on the size of the washtub. Over here it is large/extra large. or super capacity. You can email me at goodsonjohn@msn.com. I can email you a pic, if you like.
