Hey guys, about 2 months ago, I created a forum about my GE toploader washing maching humming really loud, while filling and also water barely trickling out, when trying to fill.

I checked my hoses and replaced both screens. Re-tightened everything and turned both hot and cold valves back on.......and still loud humming and barely any water coming out, and it's worse on the cold side.

So, what now? Selenoid valves burned up you think?

Andy

I would try a new one, inexpensive and easy to switch out.........

have you flushed the hoses out too.....there may be screens at the faucet connection too!

The solenoids are not burned out, they're just noisy. It sounds like the cold one is the main culprit. If they burn out, you won't hear anything at all.

Definitely just get a new valve assembly. As Martin said, they're relatively cheap. If yours is failing, you may have no choice soon anyway.

What about the inlet particle screens? I've had those shut down washers and dishwashers multiple times and never had a valve go bad.
