Hi I am trying to get a water heat thermostat for a ge portable potscrubber dishwasher model GSC702-01WH. The part number of the thermostat is WD21X5206. I am told the part is no longer available. I was wondering if anyone had a thermostat i can substitute in place of this one. If someone has one i would be willing to buy it or even if someone can recomend a part number to try instead. Is ther a way to by pas this thermostat so the timer does not pause in the rinse? I would hate to see this great dishwasher get sent to the crusher for a simple thing like a thermostat. Any help would be greatly apprecieated thanks.

I checked a few places online....NLA....but have you checked local parts houses, sometimes they have parts instock in their backrooms........or some may even have a universal/generic one that will fit.....

easyapplianceparts.com has several model numbers that match up/similar to yours, as far as the part goes....from the graphics its part number 160

PARTS

I have checked on line and every website i looked at said the part is no longer available. I have not contacted the local parts supply house they are closed. I will call tomorrow. It would be great if there is a universal thermostat i can use. Is it possible to by pass this thermostat? thanks

picture and printing

Can you photograph it and perhaps read the writing on it. That will tell the operating range of the thermostat. I always pull them out of machines I find or trash just in case something like this happens. Most operate somewhere between 140 and 160 so see what you can dig up.

Thermostat

The thermostat is for a friends machine. I will have to check her schedule to see when I can get a picture. The only other info I found on line was 133- 28 and it says water heat thermostat. I also found another number that is WD21X5114 and that says control thermostat 140- 10. That was the info I got at part advantage .com thanks Tom

Just bypass it you will probably never notice any difference in performance, if you do then worry about finding a substitute. It should be fairly easy to find a thermostat that will work. Show me a picture of the old part and a picture of the wiring diagram.

I will try to get a picture of the thermostat and wiring diagram over the weekend. To by pass this thermostat would i just connect the wires together?

Yes try connecting them together and see if the machine goes completely through the cycle without getting stuck at the rinse.
