I have a '58 Bendix Duomatic that I am putting up for sale. The dryer is gas. I replaced the water valve and the belt. The machine has no leaks. Because I didn't have a gas supply I have not run the dryer but have no reason to think that it would not work properly. I will be taking bids starting June 1st and ending June 8th at 5:00 P.M. EST. The buyer will be responsible for having the machine picked up or shipped to them. There will be a $1000 reserve. All bids and or questions should be submitted to my E-Mail address which is borear25@gmail.com - The machine is located in Winston-Salem, NC. Please feel free to E-Mail with any question / concerns before the bidding starts on 6/1/11.

????????About this machine

Jon,I think I could really pass on this one. These gas duomatics need extra maintaining. The one problem with these machines is the damper clutch springs fail when they are not maintained. This is why it is not a good thing to plug it in and fire it up after is has sat for so long. The rule of thumb to keep a combo in long running is,YOU WASH IN IT YOU DRY IN IT.It would be interesting to see it with the back off.And also to see the lint chamber WITH THE SCREEN OUT.And you know me, this machine needs a total restoration.ALL NEW SEALS FOR SURE.AND BEARINGS.By no means is this machine even close to being a daily driver. Not crazy about the huge dent on the top either.Jon you need to get a gas one to work on.It is a great machine when it is in proper working order.

This was one of the machines I was looking for before I found my slant-fronts. Man, how awesome would this be to have in a collection....alas, not this time, not for me!
