I found a Maytag Porta set on Craigslist and brought them home last night. After LOTS of cleaning, here they are. They had been in a lake cottage and weren't used very much. The only thing that I need is new belts - already on order. The washer is September 1970 and the dryer is October 1970.

Very nice! You even scored the rack used to stack them which is near impossible to do... That A50 will outspin almost anything on the market top OR front load.

Y'all never cease to amaze me. I had no idea MT ever made a TT, or that ANYone made a double disc whirlator. Is there really as little clearance between W and D as it looks in the rack?

Yup!

Remember, tho, that the washer was under the dryer only when idle. Otherwise, it sat in front of the sink...

That looks like a fun combination right there. Wash in the E2L, rinse & spin in the A50, and dry in the DE50.

That explains everything, thx.

I love the hands-on of a twintub. Plus the EXTREEM spins they had well ahead of their time.

I thought it was pretty neat to find the rack, too. Good idea of using the A50 to rinse and spin - it would be fun to use them together. I have a J2L that I use...still haven't used my E2LPS - it's brand new.

Dryer Interior

Can you post a photo of the interior or drum of the dryer?
Thanks,
Bill

After your cleaning, that set really looks mint. You'll be enjoying it for years to come!

An interior picture? I'll do better than that...

Here's one I found and cleaned up from a thrift store. Fun little dryer...

Thanks for the reference

Thanks for the index to your photos. My grandfathers "lady friend" had a small dryer that sat on top of a rack that had a big 4 wing fan blade in the back of the drum. I've always wondered what brand/type of machine that was. I only saw it once and never got to play with it.

Thanks again,
Bill
