Once a year, the small town of Clifford has a donation only, yard sale for Meals on Wheels. This is the only yard sale I go to and year after year, I have brought home some real bargains. I bought a mate for my beloved dishwasher. When I worked at Sears in the mid 90s, I bought my dishwasher and I think it was almost $900.00. It has worked beautifully all these years and I hate the thoughts of it ever breaking down. The second dishwasher was at the United Church yard sale last month and they wanted $25.00 for it. It was donated by my grade 6 teacher, who lives 4 doors down and was one of my favourite teachers. She had a new Mother Board put in it 2 years ago, but was afraid it would break down, so she replaced it. I didn't buy it then and it reappeared 1 month later in Clifford. I saw it there yesterday, alone in the rain. I went back and got it today. I asked how much they wanted for it and was told, take it. I gave them $5.00 and ran.

We had an UltraWash for 19 years, the BEST cleaning dishwasher it was!

Those are good DWs indeed, both for cleaning and reliability.

I imagine the "door open test" is actually two different messages. The "door open" will glow if the door is opened mid cycle. I'm guessing the "test" is some sort of a test mode. I know on my Kenmore(circa 2005 model) you can put it in test mode by pressing several of the buttons at the same time and it will cycle through each process and alert you if operating or if there is a failure. Not sure if the older models did that.
