And a good one!  A few weeks ago I got a call from our Ross in Arizona. He'd spoken to a lady at Midwest Timer Service that day and she told him they had "a lot" of old repair manuals they no longer needed for laundry and dishwasher products.  He referred her to me and I made arrangements to get the manuals, which arrived a little while ago.  Mostly Whirlpool and Sears from the early 50's through about 1978 and some Penncrest (JCPenney) from the 60's & 70's.   Here is the pile!  Much thanks to Ross and MTS for thinking of us all and finding an appreciative home for vintage appliance doctrine - AW.org!

Congratulations

In the picture of the 61 WP combo, you see a rectangular red light between the door and the access panel. Older combos of the 29" design had a balance system that could trip and need resetting like a top loader. If that light came on, you had to open the panel and grasp a metal ring that was attached to a fiber cord and pull it out to reset the balance system and shut off the red light so the machine could be restarted.

Have a good one,

"It gets better," a suds-return hose, the elusive 62 top-buttoned Mark X11, the entire canon of Penncrest control panels, and a cutaway of the WP Combo showing number 9, the recirc circuit--And that's just the first five examples--all personal favorites....Yeowsuh!

What great summer reading for you, Greg, and of course, us, too. Thank you.

My mind can't summon a visual for the 62 Lady K with the auto water level. Am I seeing 6 dark and 2 light panel keys? Do we have a pic anywhere of this unique, very smart Lady?

The Penncrest 861-9105, looks like the Hotpoint that comes up in POD from time to time,  could there of been a solid tub Penncrest in the bunch,  picture top row, left? alr2903

Your library must be extremly large Greg what a fantastic find .

Thank you Ross.

The Penncrest I gather are Hotpoints, 861-9105-90-070 is my faverite love the simplicity.

I would like to know as well how the Auto -water level works.

The Kenmore 110-6404-800 is sweet never seen that model.

Thanks Greg for scanning.

That is true Doctrine for sure! Never heard of the automatic water level for KM will love to read about that and worship at the Combo alter. The copy I have has been copied so many times you can't make it out at all.

Super Score!

Hi Greg,

I just saw the posting. I am so glad that these manuals will be of help. You have forwarded manuals to me on a batch of my machines, including the Thor.
