The timer on that washer sounds just like my Mama's old black Singer sewing machine!

With that control panel it looks like it was made for the Australian market.

Sure that video was filmed in Italy.

Tell tale are the "Spuma di sciampagna" whitening/hygienizer additive and the Dash "bicarbonato" liquid detergent bottle!
As you all pointed out, neither I had no idea that Singer made washing machines in the past!

Sounds like the timer was running on diesel... and that they were washing bricks!

Sold in the UK

Singer had retail shops throughout the UK and Ireland, and apart from sewing machines and all things related, they sold washing machines in the 1960s and 1970s (at least - no idea of start and end dates though). There washing machines were re-badges - the Singer twin-tub was a rebadged Rolls-Colston (IIRC), and the FL auto an Italian job...other may have more details, or period 'Which' extracts that will give info!

I OWNED IT!!!

Sì Gabriele, quella lavatrice (proprio quella!!) è stata "anche" mia!!

Did you know that just that machine stayed in my basament for several months until I decide to get rid of it giving it to Francesco (27dff). Alessandro(ISZ76) the prevoius owner gave it to me (I picked it up myself!) after had rebuild a new pair of latches for hang up an Indesit motor below the tub saw that the original one was not longer able to work on and neither to be restored unlikely, due to draining impeller hard to take off. It's a spindrain machine just like Indesit ones and it was lovely recalled "Singersit"
Never used indeed!! Maybe cause to the frontale porthole!!????

A similar machine was owned by Enrico (enrico981), but it was a luxurier model.

That washing machine was mine. I gave it to Alessandro and then he modified it adding the variable thermostat. I bought it at a flea market here in Florence... It is an italian cheap machine.
