First of all, you thread is too complex and encompassing to answer in one posting. You're going to have to do your homework. Use the "Super Searchalator", click "Imperial" and type key words or phrases into the "Search Text" field. Also, in the "archives", look for thread # 25520 and 22830 and scroll down to "First things first". One thing will lead to another.
If your washer is an A606 and it has a set screw in the agitator, it's the wrong agitator. There is an air vent hole further down on the skirt of the 606 agitator, but there's no set screw in there. FYI. Paying members get more attention. It's a small price to pay for a wealth of information. Good luck. |

And be prepared to use "Turbin Of Terror" on your Maytag. Search for that too. |

Well, for what it's worth...I took the front panel off last night and there isn't even a speck of loose oil visible. Something tells me though that it's probably not good news. |

I have the nut wrench and am only in Melrose if you'd like to borrow it. As for the oil leak, Kenny is right if its coming down the stem then its a complete disassembly, which isn't the end of the world but also is not a weekend project. Only you can decide how far you want to go. Some machines have taken me 2 years on weekends to bring back some have taken one day,its the nature of our hobby. Jon
