A few months back, I found this on Craigslist, located in Peabody, Massachusetts. After a new emails back and forth, I agreed on a price ($75) and arranged a time to pick it up.

Not knowing exactly where I was going, I convinced Rich (Perc-o-Prince) to accompany me and off we went to a trailer park in Peabody.

Okay, long and short of it is, the woman that I was corresponding with regarding the machine, her boyfriend is a metals scrapper. He found this in the back of a plumbing supply place. Not only did I get the machine, but in the tub was all the original paperwork, the original fill hose and the adapter for the kitchen faucet. Both Rich and I are firmly convinced that this machine was never used, although we can't be sure. Anyway, I plugged it in, it worked and off it went to Rhode Island. I'm slowly working on getting it cleaned up, but otherwise, it works perfectly.

Will try to post a video, although that's really not my strong point.

Ron

And, of course, the "money shot."

Great score, it does look like it has never been used.  They are fun machines to use and man you can sure get a lot of laundry done in a short amount of time!!

Easy Spindrier

That is a beautiful machine. I am looking for one just like it. I found one on CL farly nearby, but it did not have the fill and drain spigots (I guess you used a garden hose) and the asking price was $450. It looked to be in very good shape but would only accept $150. My Mom and Grandma both had an Easy spindrier so it brings back memories. If anyone comes across one with the fill and drain spigots nearby NJ, I'd love to know about it. Thanks much.

What a beauty!  And to think it was going to become scrap metal!

So happy you found it!

It does look hardly used!

What a prize! Grandma had one either a model or a year down from that, didn't have the timer as I recall but otherwise the same. Takes me back 60 years. I worked the clutch handles.

Glad that VERY NICE machine was rescued from the scrapper!Better that someone get more years of use out of it than being KRUSHED.Its better to recycle the machine by giving it a second life in a new home than krushing and melting it into beer cans.

Great find!!!!

I have one, and it's the most fun-to-use machine out there. Mine is a few years newer than the one pictured, but they work about the same. In fact, I'll be using it this morning to do a mountain of laundry that has accumulated.

You'll be hooked on it soon.

Nice Washer

I stopped in and took a look at this washer a few week's ago, it is quiet and runs like a charm. It is just like the washer my grandmother had many year's ago. Thanks Ron for the demo.
Tim.

Seriously Ron, you're giving me twintub envy. Looks like the only signs of age are on the legs, careless parking of a lawnmower.

YAY!!!

It truly looks better in person. Pics don't do it justice. It was an exciting/fun trip. A powerful yet quiet machine. I love the spin rinse/dryer. The fact that it came with all of its paperwork was pretty cool. Lots of fun. I know that you're having a great time using it. Enjoy it in good health!!

The Easys were magnificent machines in operation.

One question I can't remember. How did you tell it whether you wanted the water to come in the wash or spin tub? I remember moving and valving the drain hose, but not the fill faucets.

The smaller faucet is for filling the wash tub and spray rinsing in the spinner tub. The larger faucet is for discharging the wash water into the sink or you can recirculate the water back into the wash tub when spinning clothes.

The faucet does that? Grandma's it was a drain hose, with a screw/ball valve in it. Apparently it always pumped, handle at bottom determined whether it drained wash or spin, ball valve determined whether it actually drained anything or not.

Wow! What a find! I'm envious - would love to add one of those to my collection, but I think they are somewhat of a rare find in Canada.

Caution trucking it, the legs are said to be fragile.

Well, as great as that sounds, I hauled that thing once from the "rolling hills" of Peabody to my basement and there it sits! Maybe I'll bring one or two of my smaller machines to the Mass. get-together, but like the Thor, my Easy Spindrier stays in Warwick.
