I have this amazing dishwasher since 1983. I need a filter screen (small screen) It sits under the lower washer arm and looks like a dome. Does anyone know where I can get one or if I really need it. I always rinse off my dishes before I load.

Dont Skimp!

Whether you scrape your dishes or not, you should use all the filters that came with the machine! You never know what could be missed in your rinse routine. Maybe someone else adds a dish which has something on it that can get caught in the pump or the drain valve. What if a glass breaks or a dish chips? That goes straight in and does its damage!

Are you talking about the fine mesh filter that goes over the whole pump or the small coarse filter that clips in on the side between the lower housing plate and the sunp wall? It looks like a large canneloni cut in half!
Got a picture of the machine with the item missing?

I should have whatever you need

Yes, I'm talking about the fine mesh filter, I had a part number for it, but was told it is no longer available.

Eureka ! I've got it!

No! Not the vacuum Cleaner!
Gerry, I have the filter screen you are looking for. Please check the photos and decide which one you want. Both will fit the 18-20 series machines. The one with the black top is from a 19 and says that the element is not on during drying. The sump element in the Superbas was never on during the drying part of any cycle.
Either one will fit your machine.
If you are interested, please email me and I will confirm the prices with you.
Steve
