Oh goodness, I thought we would never see the end of the Reason story. I signed up for one to test it, but never heard from them.

Anyone ever got one of those?

I so want this to work....

But, my desire for their success comes at the expense of a sale to me - I WANT A WINDOW!

No window, no sale.

I thought that had died a death!

I don't like that pokey wee loading hatch. The motorised (I presume) door opening mechanism will have to be very robust. And I hope that the sliding hatch lid doesn't snag laundry in the lid's runners.

Methinks that this machine is the "answer" to the "problem" of the drum-type toploader (think Philips Slimstar); i.e. how to access the drum, if the machine is under a worktop.

Unfortunately, those types of machine were never popular in the UK, so I really can't see any "Reason" to buy one. Joe Public will very likely make do with the cheaper Indesits, Hotpoints, Hoovers and Bekos, and give this a wide berth. Probably likely to be rather expensive too.

Plus, as others have said, no window, so how do you know if there is over-foaming taking place (the auto-dose might be wrongly set, or fail)?

No, I too will stick with a conventional windowed door.

Oh, and they keep plugging liquid detergents as the saviour of the planet. Get real - they don't clean properly, and they certainly don't whiten.

i think your wrong about the liquid detergents not cleaning properly its totaly false i use liquid detergent in my washer and get optimal cleaning power even better than all those powder detergents on the market and also to get optimal cleaning power from liquids detergents you also have to wash and rinse in cold water thats what i use as my regular temp very rare i use warm or hot the only time i use warm water is when i have clothes with stains and i only use hot water for washing bedding the rest i only use cold water and get optimal cleaning power.

Your reply reads like complete and utter drivel.

No, it's not false. Even our consumer magazine, Which? recognises that fact. And Procter & Gamble have only been pushing their powder "Ariel" which was awarded the Which? best buy award.

Besides, our powders are formulated with oxygen-based bleach, and our machines heat the water from cold, and wash for longer than a tub-type toploader.
