We would like to install a KDS-17 which has been in storage, but found that a wire is missing... apparently known as the L-1... with no hint as to where it went. Can someone explain or, better yet, email a wiring diagram?
Many thanks.
Kate

Ask and you shall receive!

Kate, the "L1" wire is the white "neutral" wire of the wiring circuit on your machine. The black "hot" wire is the L2 wire. There should be a white and black wire near the terminal block or terminal box marked L1 and L2. Look behind the crosspanel and you may find it hiding there!

All the white wires will be connected to that same L1 either directly or piggy backed on to another connection on one or more of the compnents of the machine.

There is a wiring diagram pasted to the back of the door. Just remove the outer panel and look inside. But to help you more, I am e-mailing you the service manual which is 44 pages long and should provide a wealth of information on your machine.
