Howdy ya'll... been into the vintage cooking stuff for years, Chambers and GE Stratoliners mainly, but decided it's time for vintage all the way... consequently the first steps in this direction will be to find a KD 14 to 17, must be excellent shape cosmetically and working, or a relatively easy repair... and a late 50s Frigidaire in turquoise, pink, coppertone or yellow, same condition. Cosmetics important! NY, Mid-Atlantic or close location would be nice if possible. Leads appreciated! Please eMail: firesweep"at"verizon"dot"net

The Lincoln..

Is beautiful...but with a name like Firedome, you ought to have a De Soto! LOL!

When I first looked at your avatar, I thought it was a '56.

We had a '57 Premiere when I was a kid.  First car I ever drove.  It was a horrible lemon, though.  It had the A/C with registers in the ceiling and clear plastic ducts in the rear window that carried the cooled air to them.

Our car was solid white with two-tone white and turquoise leather interior.

The only car I've ever dealt with where you had to get under the engine to change the spark plugs.

Actually as far as vintage cars go, 56/57 Lincolns are known to be one of the more durable and bulletproof 50s cars, both bodywork and mechanicals... having had numerous Olds, Chryslers, DeSoto, etc I've found this to be the case.

Oh yeah, my dad remained a Lincoln man in spite of the grief the '57 gave him.  He owned a '51 Cosmopolitan before that, and later bought a '65 Continental (what a fine car that was in every respect), a '69 Mark III, and much later (when his judgement wasn't what it used to be) an '85 that was put together like junk.  He also bought a '64 Continental convertible around 1980 as a project which he soon turned over to me.  That car was a lot of fun and it really moved out.  Must have been broken in by a lead foot driver.

Still looking for a minty KA, prefer KD14, KD16 or KD17 series, any model: Custom, Superba, etc ... will be getting a KA portable from turquoisedude Paul in MontreaL, but still want a built-in for the home I will be building! Would also consider late 50S to early mid 60s Frigidaire, in mint condition, thanks Roger A.
