Thought I would tell you all my plans for Autumn. I have good news and bad news.
Bad news first...
My 3314L "Dilys" is sick again and this time it's structural. I should have said no when I saw her at first but the rust is more serious than it looked and it was actually rotting. The body is crumbling at the bottom and the machine is literally rotting from the bottom up and flaking. It doesn't look like she will hold together. I am sorry to announce but I am letting her go. She will be stripped for spares of course as there is alot in her that's useful for many other Hoovermatic's so I didn't waste any money on her other than the paint. I'm sure I can find another one like her or later soon enough as they are common. I think I will stick to the machines that don't need painting or have structural problems from now on and save myself the hassle.
Good news...
I am getting an as new, hardly used Hotpoint 9400!!! The machine my Gran had and the focal point of many memories. So there was light at the end of the very short tunnel. I can't wait to get using it tomorrow. I can imagine it gleams like the 2 other machines in my collection.
In 2 days I was down one machine and back to 3 again, quite odd and it makes me think faith is with me.
I hope I can find an Automatic now before school starts.
I've very recently befriended an engineer in the same county and he sees Liberators etc. sometimes so I have hope in getting a Liberator too!
