Good to hear matey!

Go and look at old threads and read them to look at the info, like times people post and what they discuss and the manner they post.

ANd the difference in times that people post so you can see sometimes its not instant but varied as people go to work or do tasks in life.

Its not as fast moving as you may think sometimes.

Remember keep it real, keep it fresh and keep it nice and we shall all have fun!

Now lets drawer that line eh matey! :)

HotPoint Fan since you just pulled the report lever you've brought me into this situation. I see things going on here that I didn't see before as I very rarely look at the Deluxe Forum unless the report lever is pulled on a post, which is extremely rare in Deluxe.

#1 How old are you? Let me know and please add your correct birthday/birth year into your profile.

#2 I see there are over 15 new threads created by you over the course of the last two days. This is a HUGE No-No. As of this point I'm going to ask you not to create any more new threads without my permission. If you would like to create a new thread you must email me first at webmaster@automaticwasher.org and let me know what it is about and wait until I respond.

Does everything I asked make sense?

Hello,

My birthday is the 27th of May 1998.

I use a different computer for my email and this is not receiving messages.

Sorry about my current position on this site. I just got overexcited with my thread-posting.

Jacob

Hi Jacob, because you are so young for now I only want you to read the posts.  However I will allow you may make a maximum of 5 replies per day.  Please do not go over five replies in any 24 hour period or I will revoke all posting privileges. In time I'll allow you to create new threads and reply more, but for now reading should be your main focus.

No Zealot Like a New Zealot

Jacob,
I found Automatic Washer Org when I was 54 years old. I was like a pig in warm mud and so thrilled I read for 2 1/2 days with hardly any sleep. I was responding to every thread with my experience and input as if the rest of the group had just arrived and was hanging on my every answer. Within the first week a few members stomped on my naughty bits. Hurt, embarrassed and with ego shattered I closed the screen vowing never to return. Just like learning how good it feels to play with yourself, I was bitten with the desire to return and read more. Over the past 6 years I have tempered my enthusiasm and learned that the members of this group are long suffering, forgiving and willing to accept me as who I am and not who I used to be. It is a gift beyond measure, one I value and protect. I completely understand your excitement as it surpasses all joy to find this group if one is an appliance lover. I got spankings as a child for refusing to obey my parents edict not to ask people what brand of washer they had and if I could see it. Feel free to ask clarifying questions, read the many posts and use the searcholator to find specific information that may already be posted. You show maturity in realizing and apologizing for any misunderstandings. I am sure you'll do fine in the longer run and I welcome you here warmly. I could have saved myself a lot of spankings if a sight like this was available to me as a boy.

Mixfinder,

My childhood admonishments were about vacuum cleaners, I got the washer bug later in life.

My mother still tells of how utterly embarrased she would become when I would ask someone about their vacuum, and then proceed to show/tell them how inferrior their machine was to a Kirby.   (well they were)

I love this site and the sister site Vaccuum land.  I am in heaven.  This is like appliance porn, I can't quit.

Hi guys

hotpointfan's profile picture
mixfinder: I did used to wake up in the morning at 6 0'clock but alas no comments were posed to any of my gazillion threads. If you read Unimatic1140's comment, you will understand that I am no longer permitted to post threads, and only 5 comments per day.

Iheartmaytag: I to asked people about their washers and requested to see them. I remember seeing a Indisit at somebody's house and calling it rubbish compared to a Hotpoint! Oops!

Jacob

Jacob, don't burn your metered responses replying to just this frame, it's just a story anyway.

At 5 I would walk up to total strangers in the neighborhood I saw doing laundry in the garage and ask if I could watch the washer run. At 12 my cousin's mom was out, came home and was horrified I had the pump of her Westy apart. No worries Aunt Maureen, I told her, just checking for socks, it goes right back together.

Folks would take me to the department store. I never wanted to traipse after them so they'd park me in the washer department knowing I would still be there when they were done. Back then, nobody worried about kidnappers and molesters, and the displays always had a see-thru model full of water churning poker chips.

At home I'd pull a chair in front of the Westy and watch entire cycles. Better than TV in those days. Replaced a timer at 10, uninstructed and unaided. There's at least one more Aspy here who mentioned how the sights and sounds of washing calmed them down. Yes, it does.

Man I can't tell you the amount of time I spent in the Forum Archives when I first joined. The only thread I posted at that time was to announce my joining lol. I looked through every current thread and a good majority of the old ones. Then there are the pictures of collections, videos, audio clips and all kinds of stories. It was a while before I posted again lol.
