Hey Greg, yes indeed, hard to think mum didnt have an electric washer for the first two years of married life and me, then got the Servis twintub and only had her first automatic after 18 years of marriage....couldnt imagine that today - have seen many wedding lists with a washing machine on it - but with make model & colour fully specified!!

Adam Hart-Davis filmed the early history of the washing machine up to the 1960`s there and then filmed some of my washers for the later timeline, (although for 8hrs filming it only lasts 10mins) wish I had all that floor footage!!!
