1989 Hoovermatic Deluxe T5090. Daily driver until recently when the pump decided to slip its belt all the time. Using my lodgers Miele Novotronic 1200 atm. White Knight vented dryer.

Hey Optima,
all i can say is, Its 2 years old, and had 5 repairs. its because hoover have been taken over by candy which has made them incredibly cheap and tacky and they are only designed for 3 years use max. To make all that worse, they are on the decline. currently one of the worst machines on the UK market, Thank you for replying and telling me what machine u have
Sudsreturn, Hi i abssolutely loooovvvveee 80's hoover washing machines!! how long have you had it for and how long has it been in use? has it had anymore breakdowns before? id love to know! :)
Cheers,
George :)

the candy aquamatics are more reliable than the free standing machines (as in they dont end up on the kerb afyer 3 months)

Boschlover. I had my machine around 10 years, but it was used at my friends house as a standby while I was living in London. My nan bought it second hand around 1997 after her T5054 died. It's an ok machine, I prefer the older machines, fave being the orange knobbed/orange spin latch/orange rinse arm machine, forgot which model number. No repairs, just this one time with the pump. In good condition, although the text on the wash deck is VERY faded from my nan doing far too many boil washes...you know how it is, "I love to give me sheets a good boil ya know"!

And ps/ glenfieldmathk1.. how long do you think it will be before the bearrings fully go on your hotty?

Post# 537363 , Reply# 36   8/16/2011 at 13:03 (4,608 days old) by nrones ()
Who the hell do you think you are?

You know everything, mr Smart. What the hell do you know about Candy machines? How are you using your Hoover - better not start with that one!

"sorry, but I will critisize what I want, thanks" - NO you wont. If you DARE to repeat behaviour like you do on YouTube (on every Candy video you get into, you write huge comments bla bla bla" -- I will report you. And belive me, since there is a lot of people who love Candy, I WILL NOT be the only one.

The whole point is that this forum is supposed to be a good place, for us to enjoy and entertain, not to spread negativity!!! You know I hate Indesit Company, and I had even worse experience with Aqualtis than you talk about Hoover, I just avoid threads about them, leaving people who love them - to love them, and DO NOT SPREAD NEGATIVITY! -Everyone on this forum except you is behaving that way. And I promise you will be no exception.

There are people here much older than you, with much more experience, and style than you, that for example own an electrical store, where feedback with C/H is great (and when they sell at least 3-4 machines each day, they have the hell more experience than you), or for example used personally around 15 Candys (family and friends), and own few of them (like me) and feedback about them great too, or maybe personally visited their factory, or they just know a lot about them (dont make me ask you some questions about Candy, just for fun to show you how you dont know anything about them).

So more respect please, and controled behaviour too, because you think you know the whole world, and you dont know to what people, what knowledge and what very high quality minds are you talking to, when you are on this forum.

nrones, read his comment about opinions, well that was mine :L
id like you to NOT tell me what to do thanks because, quite frankly, british candy is absoutely trashy, and siemens is brilliant. vise verser in your country.
I would have liked to avoid this conversation, but if you look at the creator of it first, then say that, you will actually understand how its hard for me to ignore it.
British candys are terrible, they are cheap and extremely badly made and they are absolutely one of the most unreliable on the market over here and they are on the decline. talk to any experienced appliance repair service or even an experienced collector, they will all say the same, but theres no need for the stupid arguments, and that comment was just an argument started, dont deny it.
Your opinion isnt neccesarily the right one, but if you dont agree with someone elses its hardly a case of reporting the for not thinking the same as you. so i suggest that that doesnt happen again. and Aquarius8000 i own a Hoover vision HD that has been absolutely rubbish since day 1 :/ (owned by candy)
By the way Nrones, how do i use my hoover? i use synthetics 60 mostly because cottons 60 takes nearly 2 hours!! and for coloured washing i use rapid 44' on 40c.
And once a month i boilwash the machine with candy washing machine and dishwasher descaler, and i leave the door and drawer ajar after every wash. so if you were going to make some smart commment about the way i do my washing? i wouldnt lol

Right, I apoligise and the hoover machine is made by candy but how can you compare that to the aquamatic when that is made differently?

Post# 537376 , Reply# 42   8/16/2011 at 13:46 (4,608 days old) by boschlover1997 ()

Because they all use similar parts inside, so they are all of basically the same build quality, but people get lucky and people dont. its hit and miss with H C machines

2nd and last comment from me

You did not understand my first comment, it is not about you personally hating Candy, if you want to hate Candy, then hate it with all your power, but dont spread negativity literally everywhere where Candy is. This is a good place, a positive place, for us to be pleasant and have fun. Leave us people who love Candy to feel that way, and dont spread negativity, and You go to Miele, Bosch, or whatever threads you like, and enjoy them there, but again -do not spread negativity-.

There is more than 1800users of this forum, do you think you are the only one that hates one brand? Everyone dislike something, I dislike Indesit, you dislike Candy, someone dislike Electrolux or even Bosch, but from all 1800 users, you are the only one having a desperate need to write that off in every single Candy thread - stop it, and avoid Candy! (as everyone else does with their brands)

Post# 537404 , Reply# 44   8/16/2011 at 16:40 (4,608 days old) by supermaticjames (Donegal, Ireland)
George,

I don't love any modern machine built after 2000 for example but I don't hate them either, yes quality control has slipped a few times but since they have bigger drums and faster spins nowadays they are put under more stress than our favourite old machines like Aquamatics (they are so cute BTW!) and Hotpoints etc. Also although I am inexperienced with foreign brands like Candy, the old Aquamatics have nothing at all in common with other Candys and Hoover.

I don't opinionate on anybody elses favourite brands as afterall its what makes us individuals here.

Starting arguments or being a smartass in general won't get you very far on these forums and unlike YouTube, WE HAVE CONTROL HERE. You can get reported if you pushed the right buttons but I won't be the one who does it because as of yet, you've done nothing on me but putting down people like Aquarius8000 and AEG's choice of brand will get you in that position.

I just had to get this out there as I would want someone to do the same if I was in their position.

James.

hang on

can just say something before you have a go at me nrones, i learned how to use this last week, ive commented on my own thread, and some hoover and hotpoint ones, so i dont comment on every thread.
2nd of all i sometimes come across allrude, which i dont mean to be so i am sorry if i upset you, it was intentional. and also, i have no problem with you like candy, i just hate them personally
George

ok

I am not personally offenced when someone talks bad about Candy, and neither I am upset.

The whole point:
You see people talking about Candy, sharing pictures with Candy on no matter what thread - if you want to ask something if it is interesting, thant you maybe dont know, than ask, but dont write "Holy crap, they are shit etc" - just that. no negativity.. next time you want to write such comment, just ignore it, as all other people partially ignore threads about brands they dont like :)

I think we all are as INDIVIDUAL as each and every washing machine out there and lets face reality all of us are different by something even if we look alike, I think the old saying is true NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY THE COVER. Not all Candy are bad same as all Indesit or whatever brand you want to pick there will always be one bad apple in the barrel somewhere.

So everybody can we please stop bitching and start appreciating the VARIETY we all can contribute.!

Ps I am an ex service engineer with 20 years experience and I don't moan about the crap I have sorted or say which brand is any better than any other..

I dont understand what all the negativity about Candy-Hoover is all about. We as a independent store sell loads of Hoover optima & Candy grando washing machines to lots of satisfied customers. On the reliability front, i cant even remember the last time one single Candy machine went wrong under its warranty period. I wish the same could be said for most of the other washing machine manufacturers.

Chris, no what i mean is i wasnt sure wether it was the WMA62 or 63 that is the aquarius, there is an ultima pretty much that says aquarius on the draw, its exactly the same but i dont think it has a powerstream, and no i havent,i need to clear out the garage next week or in 2 weeks then ill start looking, thanks for asking :)
and optima we have all moved on from this its in the past so no more to be said?
