howdy all. brand new to the forum. came across it today in search of some parts for my 1950s (??) era Hotpoint sink/dishwasher combo. The problem I am having is that the faucet is leaking terribly and doesn't function correctly anymore (won't stay 'up' when you turn it on) - geez... that sounds WAY too inappropriate! I need to either replace or repair this faucet ASAP. I am also open to selling the unit, it's in fantastic shape cosmetically, but it'd have to cover most if not all of the cost to replace it. (the pic is pulled from a different thread... it's a way better pic than the one I have). I will try to sneak in one of my pics once I figure out how to use the forum.

If anyone can please help me out I would be eternally grateful. Please reply to the thread or contact me at jghauser@gmail.com

Thanks!!!

Here is my unit in case anyone is interested. it lights up and runs through the cycles, but there is no water run to it so I've never used it nor believe it's been used for some time.

That's a Moen faucet

Moen made that faucet for several dishwasher-sink combo's. I have a parts break-down somewhere at home I will locate and scan. You might be able to repair it by replacing the o-rings.

SteveD, that would be amazing if you could locate that. Thanks. I will do some research on Moen myself.

temporary fix

This would just be a temporary fix until you find the parts: in the last days of our unit like that, my mom used a toothpick to keep the handle up....she just put it in the hole that appears when you raise the handle...........

Jordan,

I would possibly be interested in the unit as a whole, should you decide to remove it and sell. I believe that I see rust along the bottom edge of both the sink door and front dishwasher panel. Condition of the dishwasher itself will be important. I am sorry, but I cannot comment on the faucet, due to my lack of knowledge of the Hotpoint Sinks. If you could provide the Model Number and Serial Number, I have microfiche that might depict the faucet assembly, which I could photograph and post for you to look at.

Here is the Hotpoint Electric Sink that I have, which I attribute to 1949. I am uncertain what year that your unit is from. The faucet on my unit has been partially replaced with a more modern one.

(I currently have 11 complete Electric Sink units in my collection, with two more to be picked up from the Eastern States soon.)

Mike

however

in taking a closer look at your dishwasher pic, I'm wondering if you have the Barnes style..... is the end of the faucet control knob tapered black plastic? If it is then it might not be a Moen.

and another version

from Frigidaire of the Moen faucet (deck mount). The inner workings should be the same as the face mount.
