Microswitch

I don't have a wiring diagram for this machine. Earth leakage units trip at 20 mA, so there must be a leak somewhere. That microswitch should have a float attached. The idea being that if there are any leaks, the water is cut off immediately. The microswitch is held by a cheap plastic bracket which breaks easily. AEG spares are rare & expensive, so I use epoxy to build up the bracket.

thank you so much for your assistance!i really appreciate it.i have just noticed its leaking at the water pump.but why is it only tripping at the wash cycle but when the pump is activated it works?maybe the washpump wyres thats getting wet?the backpanel was been removed by the previous owner so i cant really make out what model it is exactly.its got a dial for program selection,with programs a and b and then 5 push buttons.btw what is the S for on one of the buttons?

AEG FAVORIT 525 : S = Spar = Economy cycle

A prewash --> main wash --> 3 rinses ---> drying

B main wash only ---> 3 rinses ---> drying

the S button skips the prewash and one rinse.

HTH
bye
Favorit

Thanx favorit!so if i depress the S button and put it on the A cycle it will basically skip the A and start at B and skip one rinse at B cycle?can you maybe tell me the exact model of mine?it has 5 push buttons and 1 cycle dial.and the temperature button is marked 65 and 50 when is it on 50 and when is it on 65?But thank you so much for your answer on the S button.

Hi Vaclover

1st question - I guess it behaves that way. When you choose the separate prewash (AKA rinse & hold cycle : A + second button from left) does the timer advance to the stop position by itself making a sort of "fast forward" (rapid advance)?

2nd - Havent' seen your DW, how can I say which exact model it is ? ;-)
If it were a white fascia one it would be a Favorit 525w ... if it were a built in machine it would be a F 525i

3rd - 65>>50 means : button released = 65°C , button engaged = 50°C.

Now I'm not @ home. When I' ll be back there, I' ll make some scans to the 1985/86 A.E.G. catalogue
