I know I've never seen anything quite like that before.

What's so strange? It's just a Universal range without the James dishwasher. Why is this in the Imperial forum when it should be in the Super Forum?

The Cribben and Sexton Co. Chicago, These were there top of the line ranges, Marlboro seriese, either with the James dishwasher or a roll out wood topped cart, pretty slick I think!

So So Sorry

It was late, not thinking and posted on wrong forum.  So, so, sorry!

As I'm still new, if someone will tell me how, I'll change it or delete it or do whatever is appropriate, if changing is possible.

What's so strange? I never saw one like that, it's a bit unusual, to say the least!

It's all right, oldskool

We all make little mistakes while we're new here. Robert, the webmaster will move it, if he needs to.

For refrigerators, stoves, microwaves, freezers, put it in "Super" or the yellow forum.

For washers, dryers, and dishwashers over 20 years old, this pink "Imperial" is the place.

For washers, dryers, and dishwashers newer than 20 years old, the blue "Deluxe" is the place.

I've got one of these!

Am currently restoring a Universal. Doesn't have the pull out butcher block or dishwasher. Actually did a leak check yesterday. A strange coincedence!!! Will look great in the kitchen with my KDS-18!!!

I've never seen one of those Universals, but I have seen a Westinghouse (go figure) similarly configured. They called it the Rancho Range, I think. Perfect for those tiny post-war apartments while your sprawling ranch was being built in suburbia.

The rancho also came with a tubular chrome stool with red leatherette cushion. The stool was a cantilevered design. The rancho was from an era when sitting while performing household duties was being advocated. Having an open hole in the range cabinet saved precious steel and the "open" look with things like light and glass blocks was in vogue.

Nice of you to be helpful and explain the ropes to Oldskool, Lawrence. Seems like somebody else could use a Valium or something!

Rancho!

Probably the most convienent range of all time, I sit down to do anything like peeling stuff, or stirring a pie filling, my back kills me to stand hunched over a pot!
