And what a coincidence, I'm going to Klamath Falls, OR this weekend to visit a friend and I just happened to see this. If the timing of my trip works out, I may be bringing these home. (my husband is out of town and will probably kill me, but I believe asking forgiveness is easier than asking for permission..!)

Todd -

That washer is a Kenmore 600, 1971 model I believe. You'll like it as it should have the three-vane gold Straight Vane agitator in it. This is a powerhouse of an agitator. If you want to soak yourself, run the machine at medium or lo in the Normal cycle and stand there with the lid up. If you run it for 14 minutes it might just splash out enough water to trip the level switch! (kidding).

VERY nice machine for a 600, and it looks like a good deal. Good luck!

Gordon

Todd so cool!!! JasonL, either his mom or his grandmother had the matching dryer to that washer. Cannot wait to see closeups. That dryer is the match to the Kenmore 700 washer, which has been a POD before. it was their entry level Alphabet washer during that series, so cool. Chris in Tennessee grew up with the matching washer to that dryer.

Thankfully my husband only sighs heavily when having to help me transport these things to and from the truck. Will keep you all posted -- I just can't believe these are available when I'm planning a spontaneous trip!

VERY nice looking (almost) set there. Yes, the washer is a 71 600. The 69 600 differs from this in that the dial is plastic with the spindle type knob. This is a well featured washer that should come with an agitator mounted softener dispenser.

The 700 dryer is a good looking mate to this washer. One thing I like about these 700 models is that they have the two small lights; one above the dial, and one above the other controls. That has always been one of my favorite features with 70 and 700 series Kenmores from this era.

Have a good one,
James

Well, came back empty-handed. They were already gone when I got up there. Oh well, I have enough Kenmores (3) for now. Still on the look out for a Frigidaire 1/18 or something else unique to my collection...
