I really wasn't sure where to put this because I don't know if this is an original model that was never used or a recent reproduction. Anyway I bet there is someone here who might want to get their hands on this.

The DISHMASTER:

I remember the TV ad toting this product as being something that "makes dish washing more fun"...

One of my friends had one (though this was when he moved near by me; his older house in a different part of town had a dishwasher (a Kitchen Aid--when I asked him, though had to think for a moment as if he wasn't sure) which most likely got left behind; he had a black & white picture of a rack & just washed dishes that he showed me which he took for his photography class in school...

Think if we had one for the occasional hand-washing we do (I shove EVERYTHING in my machine that will fit & which we won't miss while its being washed) my wife would insist on it having two--maybe three--brushes that attach to the hose...

Dishmaster is still in business to this day. I have a current model I found at a yard sale a few years ago and it was still in the original unopened box.when I was growing up, a salesman talked my mom into getting a "lightning Quick' garbage disposal with a "free dishwasher". She was so excited she got hooked on the deal of a $99 dishwasher to go with the disposal.after they were installed, she asked the installer where the dishwasher was. when he showed her, she was so po'd she called the local news and they did a follow up finding the seller was misleading customers not explaining clearly what the dishwasher really was until after the installation.mom got her money back but e kept the faucet and it lasted about 19 years. The one I have is great and does a great job when you're in a rush but,I prefer my Kenmore Quiet Wash dishwasher.

I bought that same eBay model off the shelf at OSH in the mid 80's.  I enjoyed using it.

Once we remodeled our kitchen and added a brand new KDI-21, we installed a more contemporary faucet and the DM went out to the laundry sink.  Eventually the spout portion froze up so there was no longer any side-to-side movement, but other than that, it worked fine for about 20 years.

They're way over-priced but if you don't have an automatic dishwasher, a DM can be very useful.  If the NOS eBay one can be had for under $75, it's an excellent deal.

We had a Dishmaster in 1952. They're quite convenient for hand washing. 1953 house had a Hotpoint impeller DW so we never got another DM. I'd have one now but it's an apartment, won't allow installations. I have a GE potscrubber but only use it as a drying rack. One person just doesn't generate that much dirty dishes and I'd have to wash the utensils every time anyway, there's only one set.

Last weekend, I caught the Dick Van Dyke show episode titled The Babysitter which was the one with the Westinghouse kitchen. I noticed that there was a Dishmaster faucet over the sink.
