Since I had discovered AW back around 2004, I have been in "Dreamland". One of my best wishes would be to possibly visit any members who have a nice washer & dryer collection. A "Wash-In" would be fantastic! Right now, funds are very limited, so traveling further than NYC Metro area and having to stay overnight somewhere would not be possible. I would be very happy indeed. I do have a large collection of US & foreign appliance literature, mostly washers, dryers and some dishwashers, from the 1960's on. I also have a nice stack of OLD "Life" magazines, from the late 1940's and up to the late 1950's, with MANY appliance advertisements. I also have a large collection of Automobile sales literature from the 1950's on, if anyone's interested. I know many of my collection would be considered "collector's items".

Hi Jason,

Too bad we're on opposite coasts -- I've got what I think is a good start of a decent collection and the "wash house" is open any time to anyone who makes out to the wild and beautiful northwest coast of California and brings his/her own laundry! And my husband and I have a 3-bedroom house with lots of room for guests and anyone in the "club" is welcome to stay with us.

Todd's Invite

Todd,

Thanks a lot for the very sweet invitation! I only hope my post of this thread doesn't annoy anyone. I am just making a general statement or request, with no other motive. I do have family and friends in CA, but not the NW Coast. The closest I may ever get(and did, of course)is Ashland, OR where i have a childhood friend and her family. Your collection looks great-I like the yellow pair(Signature?) I also spy a "Napco" little portable on the floor! I have spoken to "Peteski50" Peter on the phone, and he is so nice! He lives not too far from me, but like me, has no place for any collection.

Thanks again for the first reply, I do hope someday soon to be able to enjoy yours and others' collections somehow.

Jason

NE wash-in!

Hi Jason,

I don't know if you saw that we are having a holiday party in January. I will paste the invitiation below that we posted in the As The Tub Turns section. We do have room at the house if someone can bring an extra blow-up bed. We have two and think that they are spoken for :-) Perhaps you can car pool with someone? It's always a great time!!! Hope you can join us :-)
-------------------------------------------------------------
"OK Guys and Gals!

It's that time again! We're planning the holiday party for this year and have come up with a date. January 7th, 2012, with a storm date of the 14th, 1pm - ??. Having it right after New Year's has allowed more people to make it, and it's still close enough to be festive!

Pot-luck finger-foods/appetizers have been a big hit, so we'll continue with that! If you have something that needs heating, we'll have the ovens available for you to use. BYOB, and we'll have mulled cider, coffee, etc.

Hopefully the ABC-O-Matic will be all set by then, but we can certainly run the Savage through its paces, and do a dish load or two in the Thor and/or Conover! Like always, we'll have a hell of a time!

Do we want to do a Yankee-Swap again?

This will be posted in the Super forum for those who are not upgraded members, but please use this thread to reply. Who's coming? What're ya bringing? Wanna Yankee Swap???

Chuck and Rich"

I made a mistake...

Todd, the little washer at the end of your lineup on the floor is a Nesco!!! I had a senior moment when typing!
