Purchased this last May, and it is headed for the collection of John/Combo52. The fellow I purchased it from said he bought it for his wife, but she decided she didn't want to lose the space in her kitchen required to have it installed. I don't believe they were the original owners. I think this is a 1990 or 1991 model, but don't know for certain.

Classic Supreme

This is the Classic Supreme model, model number CLSUP-5. This photo is of the right side of the control panel. It looks funky, but this is just the clear vinyl protective coating that has gone cloudy.

More control panel

This is the left side of the control panel. The box is pretty much toast, with the front section completely gone. But it doesn't appear that the dishwasher has ever been out of the box.

Lower rack

Cardboard spacers inside keep things from jiggling around too much.

Use and Care

This is the front cover of the Use and Care Guide. Instead of posting all of the pages here, I made it into a PDF which can be downloaded at the link below. It's a big file, almost 10MB.

Cycles and water usage

Of general interest, I'm including here the cycles and water usage for all models except the electronic series. That one has several pages devoted to it in the Use and Care Guide.

Does anyone know what the Classic Supreme 3000 is, and how it differs from the regular Classic Supreme? I couldn't find anything in the guide that helps explain how it is different.

Kitchenaid relative

My Kitchenaid portable has an identical interior. Well we all know that ISE/Emerson Electric and Hobart/Kitchenaid are VERY related.
I call my dishwasher "The Blaster".
Though reserved largely for overflow dishes after parties, I use it on filthy stuff throughout the year or for grungy estate-sale finds. It even SOUNDS like it's scrubbing the tar off your dishes. Love it.

Doug, I think there's just a cosmetic differerence in the panels of the 3000 and the regular classic supreme, I vaguely remember seeing that somewhere.  I"m disappointed thre's no mention of cycle time difference when the energy saver wash option is or isn't used.  I owuld hope the cycle times wouled be extended  a little bit more  on the 400 & 700 just like they are on the comparable KAs.  Comparing cycle times, looks like the TOL electronic version got short-changed compared to the others.  Wouldn't want that myself.  Thakns for all the book scanning.  Now I have to go smoke a cigarette lol.

Wow that is some dishwasher - one of my favorates.
I have a friend that had the same one in white. What a power house!

Bob, would the cycle time be the same whether or not the energy saver wash option is used? I didn't see anything in the guide that says to what temperature the automatic water heating will heat the water. It does say the minimum temperature of water entering the dishwasher should be 120, or 130 if using the energy saver wash option.

If it only heats the water an additional 10 or 20 degrees, to let's say 140, maybe that doesn't take very long and thus the cycle times are kept the same, whether the water heater is on or not.

Perhaps the Supreme Classic 3000 model has a white control panel?

Peter, thanks for posting the brochure scans. That answers the question about the Classic Supreme 3000. That would look nice in our kitchen with the other white appliances; I may have to be on the lookout for one of these.

Hey Doug, good to see you put up a post about this machine.  As you know, I sure do like my Supreme and have yet to observe any negative results from a single final rinse.

Pete, thanks for posting the ISE sales literature.  Very enjoyable.

Installation Manual and Question about part from ISE

Is there an installation manual available?
We have an ISE Classic Supreme from 1988, still works like a charm.
My wife showed me this part that got loose and I'm trying to figure out where this part came from (see photos). It seems to attach to the back of the top tray, but I'm not sure how.
I will upload another picture.

Thanks,

Manny

LOOSE DW PART

combo52's profile picture

That is the water feed tube for the upper racks wash arm, the larger round end pushes into a rubber fitting at the rear top center of the tub. And the smaller round spout points forward and mates with the back of the top rack to feed water to the top spray arm. Two little rubber tabs get pulled through the holes marked #9 to hold it in place.

The machine won't wash well in the top rack without this part in place, and from the look of this part it doesn't look like this machine is working all that well.

LOOSE DW PART

John, thanks for answering.

It was washing well until this part loosened.

I put it back in place and it washes fine.

Thanks,

Manny
