My 1960 RCA Whirlpool washer and Jeff's 50's Westy dryer were returned today to us from the theatre in Dayton OH which had rented them for the last month. The show was "Caroline or Change." I didn't see the show, 3.5 hours away, but the theatre company sent pics along with the returned appliances. Yes, this is purely showing off, what the hell, I get a good laugh from this.

1st pic is both on stage with lead character Caroline

Here is a shot of the character who embodied my washer, she's supposed to represent the new ways of doing things, set in 1963

and this pic shows the actor who represents the embodiment of the dryer, the older way of doing things. That's as much as I know of the show. They did a special "aging" paint job on the dryer. Hopefully Jeff from Ohio doesn't mind me posting these.

Plenty of folks here helped me with excellent and patient advice on the restoration of that washer, I appreciate it all.

That is very cool

Well, I have to say I would have made the trip to see it, it seems they play a prominent part in the production.

Play

Thanks Akronman for posting the pics. Had I known how important the appliances were to the plot I would have made an effort to go to the play. I thought they were just background. Jeff
