I have a few umm, "acquisitions" that need to move out. First up is this Kitchenaid dishwasher (not Hobart, but Whirlpool). I am not certain that this is in the correct Forum, so if not the Webmaster might move it to the newer category. I purchased this a few years back with the intention of using when I remodeled my kitchen. Needless to say, that didn't happen. It was purchased as a working appliance but I have never had it installed to verify it's electrical/mechanical condition. If you're interested please speak up - make an offer, any offer - and be prepared to take care of pickup and/or shipping. Model number is "KUDI220" if I read the plate correctly. I do have the lower access panel and I believe this one has reversible color panels.

My mother-in-law had one of the last Hobart-built K/A's... Somehow she sold it w/ her old house when she moved (it was a built-in) but more 'n' more, must'a been 'part o' the deal'...!
Kind'a expected by the thread title to see a K/A washer or dryer; to me what I would call a "WhirlMore / KitchenPool machine, though not in a favorable sense, if there ever was... -- Dave |

Yes this is still a [ Hobart machine ] in design but the company was owned by WP buy this time. The det disp was turned over to move the bi-metal actuators to the top incase the disperser shafts leaked water. The way Hobart designed these on the 17-the 21s the leak could cause a short. I saw several KAs where the dispenser actually caught FIRE and destroyed the DW. This was one of many improvements that WP made after buying KA. Remember the KA brand was in trouble and was looking for some one to buy them, at the time it couldn't gone to a better company. I will say that WP buying MT was not as good in the long run, but thats a whole another story. |
