Wow, you weren't kidding about the identical ad!

Got any with a Maytag?  LOL

That GE sure seems to be agitating slowly...and I love the tub oscillating on the Whirlpool.

I've never seen the WP version before, I use Calgon in the washer and bathing for several years when I was younger.

Calgon Commercials

I have both classic Calgon commercials. Very cool indeed.--Laundry Shark

I remember seeing both of these, the New Improved Calgon WP version I only saw a few times. I remember thinking that a 24" Whirlpool washer would come in dead last if I were choosing a washer for my laundry service.

Powdered Calgon Is Still Out There But Hard To Find

launderess's profile picture
Several years ago the product was switched so all variations were phosphate free. Prior to that Calgon was sold as both with and without depending upon local market regulations regarding phosphrous content. The key was to look for the "Z" in the code on the box.

Powdered Calgon is now washing soda, Zeolites and other chemicals, but no longer contains the two which gave it the wonderful water softening properties of old: sodium hexametaphosphate and sodium tripolyphosphate.

Am finally on my last box of vintage Calgon (in the silver wrapped box) so guess will have to order the stuff in bulk from the Chemistry story or elsewhere. Am considering pushing to boat out and springing for sodium hexametaphosphate, but we'll see.
