Well today I picked up this lovely dishwasher I found on Craigslist.

Its the KitchenAid Patrician model KDP-20

here are a few pics of it, she doesnt look to be in bad shape and was most likely lightly used

December must be KA Month

Everyone seems to be getting a KA lately! Great find! Looks really clean on the outside, and especially on the inside. Congratulations!

Interesting Coincidence

Last Saturday, I found a mint Hobart made KA compactor and a 72 LK roto rack. See my thread Super 37919. In the compactor were these manuals - and the KA manual is for the 20 series

I'd assume that your compactor was purchased along with a 20 series machine, your compactor looks alot like the one pictured on the back of the use and care booklet

Ok

So this one opens like a fridge? Never saw that before. How do the dishes stay in place?

Sam, if you checked out Eddie's thread about the KDS20 he recently found, you can see the type of phenomenal results you can expect from your new Patrician.  I have a few small incidental parts I saved off the bad-motor/non-draining KDS20 Nate and I opted to scrap, so feel free to check with me if you need any such items.

If you can find it, the blue Maytag plastisol repair stuff will take care of that rusted spot on the top rack.  It's tough to find rack repair goo in any colors other than white or gray these days.

Thanks for the offer Ralph, this is in storage for now until I have a home to install it in.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the pair of harvest GE coin op washers in the background

Do you know the history of this machine?  Why was it removed?

it was removed because the owners got a good deal on a new model during a kitchen remodel

Silly people!  They're gonna miss the Patrician after awhile.  Good score for you though.
