Here are the Frigidaires. They are 2-1/2 years old. This is my first attempt at pics with a digital camera and I see that I need to get a handle on the focus feature. Either that or I'm shaking the camera. I tried to get closeups of the control panel, but had huge shadow issues, so I'll have to figure that out and post those pics later. This is the first photo I'm sending out into the world. I just wish I had a more exciting laundry pair to show you---these are certainly textbook examples from the Bar Of Soap School Of Design, LOL. But hey, they work well!

And the gas and electric convection ranges...
These Frigidaires are 3 years old. Again, once I figure out how to take close ups that don't look like astigmatism charts, I'll post photos of the control panels. One of the reasons I bought this house was the bonus of having a gas and an electric hookup for ranges. I'd always wanted one of each, since each has its own advantages/disadvantages.

Ranges You sure are lucky there were connections for gas and electricity AND enough room for both of them. Do you plan to install a vent hood over the electric range? | ||

kenmore1978-- When I bought the house, the refrigerator was where my electric range is, which explains the difference in height between the overhead cabinets. There was a built-in desk where I now have the fridge. ANYWAY, I keep telling myself I'm going to get 2 stainless hoods and put one over each of the ranges. I never seem to get around to it because I always find something else to spend the $$ on! I've also thought of removing the cabinets over the ranges and installing one big hood.

foraloysius-- No, I'm not connected in any way with the Frigidaire company. It's just that when I was a kid, I loved Frigidaire appliances, but my parents were strictly Kenmore people. We had only Kenmore appliances in our house (except for 1 Westinghouse dishwasher in the mid-1950's). Now that I'm an adult, I get to have Frigidaire appliances, even though they are Frigidaires in name only. Also, my local Frigidaire dealer is a really nice guy, so I like to give him my business. pdub-- Yes, I do a lot of cooking. My social life consists of having people over for dinner/movie and parties. Once every 6 weeks I throw a big Sunday brunch and get quite a crowd for that. I live in a very small town (about 4,600 people), so there isn't much to do besides entertain. I used to cook for a friend's catering business, so I have a lot of restaurant equipment---it makes cooking for crowds much easier. I have another refrigerator, just off the kitchen, but I forgot to take a picture of it! I turned the living room of my house (just opposite the kitchen) into a dedicated dining room and use the family room on the lower level as my living room. | ||

Frigilux, that's the nice thing about small towns. You're not as concerned about "doing" something with folks, you're more focused on being with folks and deep friendships. And is more condusive to gatherings like you discussed. In my previous life here in Temple, I did a lot of entertaining and cooking for friends.
