I was just given an early 90's Maytag washer by a friend of mine. It has the faster stroke transmission, so that is an orbital, right? The nozzle (? terminology) where the water fills the tub is loose apparently and just hanging out over the tub. He states it works fine but I have not had a chance to hook it up to the power or had a chance to open it up. I can get some pictures and the corrrect model # after work.
I was wondering what all I needed to check to ensure that this machine will last? How do I fix the tub filler (my mind is still blank on what that is called)? The tub is still white on the inside and just needs what i consider minor cleaning. Should I replace the belts or wait until it gives me trouble? What is the correct "tune up" procedure here haha.
The only reason he replaced the washer is because the dryer was giving him problems so he bought a new set and knew i collected. |
