Well,

I promised myself a present and this is what I found down behind the local shop.
August 1995 and they ran her into the ground. The spider had two cracks and the bearings were water logged so I swapped the entire tub, put a door seal on and replaced the brushes. She is now working great. Check out the wash house also!

James.

@henrypeter

I might be wrong, but it Looks quite simple from the picture.
1000rpm max spin (which is for every cycle), so you can use the slider to select no spin, then 500rpm-1000rpm you can change it as much as you want.
The rinse hold button is simply a rinse hold at the end of the synthetics, acrylics, silk & quick wash cycle. Its not selectable on other cycles.
Super rinse increases the rinse water level on the final 2 rinses on silk, acrylics, synthetics & quickwash cycles, and the last 3 rinses on cottons cycles. No selectable on wool, as the water is already increased like the old 95 series.
Energy save, is basically like the 95 series Low energy machines, just the opposite, instead of a superwash button, the machine will automatically heat to max temperature, unless button is pressed it uses less temperature, though heater still comes on.
Eco wash, basically means the machine washes at incoming water supply, (max 60) hot & cold fill - no heating is performed.

Dial is pull on/push off.

Auto pre-wash button which is to the right of the dial will basically instead of at the end of the pre-wash, it pausing, and you select a cycle, the machine will automatically advance on to the 95C cottons wash (probably 85C-unless its got the Aquarius new wash system, which it is 95C).
The door button obviously opens the door onto a 5KG (aprox 50l) drum. this is lockable

Programmes:
P - Pre-wash
Pause
95 - White Cottons 95
60 - Colourfast Cottons 60 (Bright/light Coloureds)
40 - Non Colourfast Cottons 40 (Dark's)
main wash [If 95 or 60 is used, the machine will perform the two turns in each direction rhythm, if 40 is used, you get the single turn in each direction though the pause is a little longer, but tumble is also a little longer)
interim spin (or drain, depending on new/old Aquarius system)
4 rinses, each with interim spin.
Final spin 1000rpm - long (from the dial looks like it will do the "Boost" spin)
50_ - Coloured Synthetics 50C
40_ - Acrylics & wool mixtures (basically delicates/microfibre peices etc) 40C
30_ - Silk 30C
Q - Quick wash (incoming water supply temperature only)
Cooldown, using drain & Fill technique
1st very short rinse
interim spin
2 more longer rinses, last rinse with fast tumble rhythm with interim spins
Rinse Hold (Only if button is selected - Light comes on, when rinse hold has been reached)
Final short spin 1000rpm
40_ _ - Wool wash 40C
Drain only
short rinse
Drain & Distribute only
2 more standard delicate rinses, with interim spins
final short spin (though longer than the other short spin, shorter than cottons) at 1000rpm

I hope that that helps. Hope I am correct, I'm sure I am.

Thank's Everyone!

Did a small test load on Sunday and it performed as I expected. Everything works great. It's a lovely model, in fact it's the early version of the WM23 as shortly after mine was made the 95-series timer and module was replaced with the hybrid timer. So Mat's explanation is correct.
