This will probably clean up well.

'06 => '08 series Maytag

Thanks for the correction Pat. I am a bit cloudy on what the differences are between an early and a late Maytag within the 1966 - 1980(?) time period.

Here's a list of differences!

One of the most prevalent, noticeable differences between the '06 and '08 series is the timer dial. '08 series machines have a coloured dial using a pink/brown colour, and the '06s use a teal/black colour for the cycles.

The '06 series also uses a mesh/screen bleach dispenser located on the right instead of the cup style that can be found on the '08 which is located on the left. The '08 series also eliminated the bleach injector system, and tub light.

Even within the '06 series were there updates and changes from a 8 fin (4 fin, 4 stubby fins) agitator, lint filter went from 360 degrees of mesh to those strips of mesh, to as simple as the labeling on the water level selector switch.

Did the stainless steel ring on the top of the lint filter disappear during the model change from '06 to '08 or was that a revision during the model run?

It must have been during the series run. I had an 06 model and I don't recall any part of it being stainless steel.

It looks like an A108

It looks like an A108 because it says automatic where the regular/gentle action buttons are on the A208.

It is tempting as it is not far from me, but I am holding out for an 806 with the florescent light.

Thanks for posting.

Craigslist and a pickup truck is a dangerous combination. I may end up on a hoarders show if I am not careful.
