Hello all, I picked up this KDS-15 a little over a year ago and I'm not sure why (the bite of the appliance bug??) When I got it, it had this woodgrain shelf / contact paper covering the front of it. Today I finally decided to pull it out and peel the "woodgrain" off of it. After doing so I decided to put some power to it and see if it does anything. Unfortunately it appears the tub seal was leaking and I'm assuming, water got into the motor bearing. Each time I try to start it the motor turns ever so slightly and just hums / buzzes. Since I'd already poured a couple gallons of water into it, I thought I'd have to tilt of over to drain the water out. But nope. I disconnected one of the motor wires, turned the timer till the drain valve opened and let it gravity drain!
Anyway, If anyone is interested in this dishwasher, please e-mail me. It's free to anyone who wants it.
Kevin
P.S... the "marks" you see on the front are a few little pieces of the contact paper I still need to remove. |

Yes this is the DW that started the FOUR-WAY HYDRO-SWEEP wash arm cool and fairly reliable machine. We must have worked on hundreds of these over the years, but like most good things they are all gone from regular use, I can't think of any customers we have that still are using one this old. This would make a great restoration project for someone that wants a classic DW for their classic kitchen, the front panels can easily be painted and these did come in Turquoise, pink, yellow, SS and brown originally. P S Kevin your coarse strainer is upside down. |
