I thought the same thing Tim. The full size Canadian dryers used US-style door handles, inverted, just like this. The US portables had smaller handles, in scale with the "miniaturization" of the rest of the machine.
Could that washer be a DD? The U.S. DD version looked more like this than the BDs did. Gordon |

Gordon, the washer I would wager is a BD model from the style of timer knob used, I'd wager also to estimate the age from 80-82. The newer models, even during the BD era of these used a different knob (tan) and updated aluminum piece. The DD machines used the same know as their larger brethren.
BUT... It is a Canadian machine so that may not be accurate...

Wouldn't it be funny if the purple WP is an 82. I have no idea what year it is . Can only decipher Kenmore codes.
The wet deck is from using the garden hose to fill: big wide spray opening and closing the nozzle, but the WP's seals are drum tight, not a drop to leak, although she has another issue--she crashes and burns on Delicate.
My 78 Dryer has the woodgrain straight across just like the one in the pic, except the handle is the streamlined American version.
A have a surprise coming about this dryer, but it'll take a few days.
Is there anyone who knows how to decipher Whirlpool codes to determine the year of manufacture? |
