I thought it would be better to just have a thread solely for vintage advertisements of laundry equipment, detergents and the like.

Robert, as I mentioned earlier, I will not post knowingly any ads that are in the picture of the day rotation. If you happen to see one posted here, please let me know and I'll gladly remove it.

Note: Please make sure any advertisements you post do not have any identifiable watermarks or copyrights from any individuals or web sites. Thanks!

So folks, sit back, relax and enjoy!

And there she is. Great stuff. Loved, Thor's only overflow rinsing " in the wide world." And Frigidaire's magical pre-selected wash time. Ah, how far we've come where today you can pre-select everything, and hope that the computer delivers.Wink

Thanks for tons of treats.

Awesome ads! A neighbor had a '66 Coronado (branded a Wizard in the ad above) and it was quite a machine--a definite pig-snorting, tub-indexing, inexpensive wonder. I recall that it had a "partial fill" button that you'd push to stop filling and start agitation if you didn't require a full tub of water.

Great Scans.  Love the line in the Wizard ad  Lint Magnet "Protects against Fussy Husbands". Ah... The days of the era when "Men wore the Pants in the Family".

Question, Was ABC building machines for Kelvinator ?  Or did Kelvinator buy ABC ?

No those Wizards were made by Franklin if I am not mistaken.......which at the time the 1959 1962 and 1963 ads appeared was owned by Studebaker Corp (Studebaker dropped the Packard part of the name in 1962). PAT COFFEY

My favorites so far:

#573165; Whirlpool Imperial pair w/ a description and pics of how a suds-saving machine works.

#573166; I love the idea of ABC having a washer that has a clock/timer so it can start at a time when electric and hot water demand is low.  Wish that feature was available on today's machines.

#573446; This is pretty much the same Speed Queen wringer that was my Grandma Wilde's, and which I now have.  Bought new in 1950, and still going strong.

#573614; The 1955 & 1958 Kelvinator's are some of the best looking machines IMO.  Would love to have a fully functioning pair of either set someday.

P.S. I'm also secretly coveting Kevin's 1968 Whirlpool Imperial Mark XII set too. Wink
