Haier/Danby/Avanti... I think they're fine. If it's just you and you like the convenience of a countertop machine it's nice. I've had 3 of these and only one failure, and that was a 10-year old unit. These new machines have a full width tub and digital controls. The tub is the full 22" wide instead of 19" on the previous series and .5 inches taller and 1" deeper. These are more than likely Chinese but the build quality for this inexpensive, niche-market appliance is no better or worse than many bigger domestic brands. I really don't like having a full-size dishwasher for just me, I prefer the 18" portable or these.
