So, today I went to pick up my GE filter flow complete with mini basket that I had the winning bid on eBay. Drove to the place in sydney where it was. It was in an apartment building at the top of the building, no lift. The washer was in a really bad state. Facia complete obliterated. A rust hole in the top of the washer. The mini basket was the filter tray. How anoying, that was the only reason i wanted it. The guy was a complete arse hole and wouldn't help me Cary it down a dozen flight of stairs. He got really arse with me so I decided to abandon the purchase. I thought it would be useful for spares but not worth anything. He should have paid me $40 to take it away rather than me give him $40.

Very disapointed and will get a bad mark with eBay but was all too difficult. Such a shame. Will keep looking.

Simon :-(

That IS such a shame. I agree, if he wasn't goin to help u carry the machine he should of paid u 40 bucks... What a lazy ideotic person!

I hope you didn't pay the $40

Sounds like misleading advertising, which is enough reason to abandon the purchase. Make sure you rate this guy accordingly as well as letting ebay know that you weren't happy.

Better luck next time.

Frustration!

That really stinks. I wish you were closer to me here in Nevada, as I have a near mint mid 80's FF with basket I'd just give you. It was a rescue from The Pile behind my shop and the lady who owned her just got rid of her because she just had to have the latest spiffy front loader set... I imagine that the shipping from here to there would be astronomical, to say the least...

Hi Redcarpetdrew,

I was in las Vegas last week, thank you for your offer, would have loved to take a FF back with me. Sounds like a great machine you have. I have certainly learnt many lessons from this episode. Next time check how easy it will be to get the goods out.

Here is the link to the piece of old crap. Looked much much worse in the flesh. How could anyone think the filter tray was the mini basket, what a dick!

mini-basket

My aunt had a FF for years and was convinced the filter was the mini-basket. She only used it to wash her pantyhose in.......at least she set the water level to mini....lol

Simon, definitely report him to ebay then do what you can to get refunded unless you didn't pay him.

I was going to pay cash so no, he didn't get any money from me. I see the machine has been re-listed on eBay, still has a mini basket despite me educating him on the difference between filter tray and mini basket. There is no way anyone except a classic washing machine fan would buy the machine. I am sure he will end up paying someone to cart it out of his apartment and down a dozen flight of stairs and then dump it. I would have still liked it for spares for my other GE filter flo. Oh well, never mind.

I did leave negative feedback. not checked what feedback has been left for me yet.

Unfortunate. But imagine if you'd paid to have it shipped from Cairns and THEN found out.

Here in the States sellers no longer have the option to leave negative feedback to buyers. Is it different down under?

Is it different down under?

As far as I am aware both seller and buyer leave comments about each other. The more one does business on ebay it helps build up a profile based on others' feedback.

I like how he listed it as energy star compliant LOL.
