gotta get rid of stuff here. i've got a kitchenaid 21 model and a 23 model (with electronic controls) anyone can have free! they both are complete and work fine!

also have a stripped down tub and door panel for an 18 model and a 19 model i will be throwing away if no one wants.

also have a 16 model portable unit that has a rust hole in tub. i stripped it down, am keeping all the "guts" for parts but the tub and outer body and wood top are gonna be pitched if no one wants. rust hole could be easily patched.

gonna limit my kitchenaid collection to the 17 series and below mainly. i do have one 18 superba in avacado i am keeping but the rest must go! gotta be gone by the end of summer! if no one wants i will strip them down and pitch the tubs.

anyone close by in ohio interested? marvin, are you out there? you had expressed interest a couple years ago in the 23 model?

still have the frigidaire dryer from around 1963ish i will gladly give away! it doesn't work properly, heat is always on no matter what cycle you choose but motor and tub work fine. top control panel plastic peice is broken but could be glued back together. i will eventually strip it down and save motor and inner tub and pitch the rest if no one is interested.

hate to throw this stuff away, especially good tubs and doors but i simply have to get rid of extra stuff here! like said by fall it is going to gone, one way or another!

thanks!

pete

63 Dryer

turquoisedude's profile picture

Hey Pete!

I might be interested in that 63 dryer!  It would be cool to have something that was a least a close match to my 63 Deluxe washer - and I have had enough 240 run through me now that dryer repairs don't scare me... LOL

If you have any pictures,  please post them or send them to my email address in my profile!

Thanks!!

Hey Pete,

I found this picture of the dryer on an old thread - can you post a photo of the dryer from the front?

I'm going to be in Cinci later this spring and I am intersted. Would make a nice match to my '63 Custom Imperial washer.

Thanks,

Ben

Selectra Models?

Peter,
Are the 21 and 23 both electronic models? I would be interested in the full electrical harnesses and controls from them if you want to part them out. That would be mailable even if still attached to the doors since I have tanks of my own already.

Let me know and we can go from there
Thanks
Steve

the 23 is electronic

rollermatic's profile picture
but the 21 is not. i will post some pics of the 21 later today, along with pics of the dryer. the 23 is in my barn so i can't get pics yet. the dryer looks like a 63 model, it has 63 in the model no. i don't think i can pitch it after all but still hope to give it away. paul, if only you were closer. i'm sure you would not want to ship that dryer that far!

but the dishwashers tubs and the 21 and 23 i will have to pitch if there are no takers. again, pics to follow!

Pete -

If Paul doesn't want to ship the dryer, I may be interested. Can you post a picture of the panel?

Ben

Hey Ben,  I saw the picture of the dryer - I think it would be an excellent match to your Custom Imperial washer!

I am going to be busy chasing a certain Turquoise LK dryer in the weeks to come, so if you can save this one AND make a matched set, by all means go for it!!

KUDS23..

Pete,
I am still interested in the 23 electronic setup if it is still there. I never asked what color it was and like I mentioned, I would gladly pay for the shipping for the whole door with all the wiring attached to it from top to bottom and the temp sensor from the sump(thermistor probe and not a thermostat).

When you get a chance, let me know what color and we can go from there. Thanks
Steve

here are some pics

rollermatic's profile picture
of the dryer. like said i won't throw it away, i can't bring myself to destroy a 1963 dryer! that was a very historic year! i am getting rid of other stuff in my shed out back (a stove, air conditioner, bed, several non valuable dishwashers) so i will put it there till someone takes it. same thing with the 21 kitchenaid. for some reason i can't pitch it! i may keep it as it is the first model with the reversing motor!

steve, the 23 is already in the shed/barn out back so i can't get pics yet. it is the rainy season here in ohio and my back yard is like a swamp (minus the alligators). i won't throw it away and i will be happy to part it out to you. it's such a late model i really have no interest in it. soon as i can get the shed emptied i will get pics. i do know it has black door panels, not sure if there are any other colors under them or if they reverse. black is my least favorite appliance color! prob another reason i never really liked it.

now the dryer.

more.

the plastic panel that the peice broke off is removed. it could be fixed. also a lite could easily be installed in this area, i was gonna do that if i kept it. it is a good match to one of my rollermatics but i just don't have room to display em both so i need to find this one a good home with someone who will appreciate it!

like said i tried it last year, it heats fine and the drum and motor are fine but the temp. selections don't work. it is always on high heat! and i already have a 1965 frigidaire dryer plus another one for a spare so i don't need this one at all!

here is the plastic panel

rollermatic's profile picture
that is broken. i do not have the small broken peice.

duke ate it last year when it broke off (no joke). i tried to grab it when it broke but he took off with it and chewed it up. what can i do, he's a crazy weimerainer.

it can be fixed with plastic but it will always be flawed.

you can see the other side

rollermatic's profile picture
had broken too and it was mended before i got the dryer.

the broken

rollermatic's profile picture
side.

i would probably put in a nice flourescent lite in that area and replace this broken plastic panel with a peice of plain white plastic. but i would keep this original panel also, it is part of the history of the dryer.

or just patch this side and live with it being flawed. i will say that duke is still in shame over it! he loves old appliances!

now the 21 kitchenaid

rollermatic's profile picture
the more i look at it the more i like it. if someone wants it i will give it away but i won't part it out. it's too good! like said i can't pitch it and will keep it in the shed/barn if it doesn't get a home.

i have at least one of every model kitchenaid starting with the 12 series up thru this 21 series. and i think i even have an 11 model but it's in bad shape and the name plate is gone. so even though i never really loved kitchenaid after they went the reversing motor i will have no problem keeping it as the first reversing model they made.

but someone please take it. there are many more out there if i really want one!

i do have the bottom panel and the door panels are a silver color from spray paint. not sure if there are other panels under them, can't remember if kitchenaid did that.

it runs fine, at least it did when i used it last in 2009. it has been inside ever since, now it's on the porch. parts are still out there i am sure. it's free for the taking!
