there is a beautiful impeller dishwasher, probably a modern maid as it looks identical to the modern maid impeller dishwasher i picked up in michigan 3 years ago! this is on e bay for 50 bucks (starting bid, no bids yet) and in florida!

search "vintage dishwasher" to find it. this machine has a top roto rack and is very easy to work on! if i didn't have one i would grab it for sure! i don't need it but i will contact seller if no one else grabs it! the bidding has about 1 day left i believe! seller lists it as a "preway" brand but it's gotta be a modern maid!

this machine is rare, for 50 bucks hope someone here gets it!

I followed Pete's instructions, typed in "vintage dishwasher" and the subject machine appeared at the top of the listings.

Preway Gas dishwasher

turquoisedude's profile picture
Preway did make a dishwasher that had a gas water-heating unit but they also made electric models which were D&M built. I am pretty sure New York Pete has posted some brochures showing the two models...
One way to spot difference between the Preway models would be the wash mechanism - the gas models had two side-mounted wash arms, while the electric models were the classic D&M impeller.

Just listed here about a month or two ago ?

I think I made a comment about the Roto with no feed tube and Mike Posted a video of his American Kitchen machine ???

Also isn't that a Rubbermaid Silverware holder in the front ?

Pre-Way Impeller DW

combo52's profile picture

Its diffidently A Pre-Way you can tell by the optional pink small items basket in the front of the lower rack LOL. But really as others have pointed out PW and MM DWs were both made by D&M and would look pretty much identical inside. And even when you consider all the stupid things people do on their Craig s Lists ads it is not likely that someone that had a Modern-Maid DW to sell would accidentally call it a Pre-Way.

No gas. It is a D&M machine from before the gas Preway. It's even from before they had a pump-powered wash arm.
