Why does everyone say they are junk? are they worth the money you pay or are they just garbage?

Hi, I have the Kenmore version new style belt drive with the regular dual action agitator. I have had it since last July, and so far it has been great! The thing I like most about it, is that it has a water level switch so you can still control the amount of water and when it is set for extra large the water fills right to the rim of the tub.

Also I usually keep the fabric softener switch to on, that way you get a full deep rinse. The machine is pretty quiet and spins at 700 rpm so the clothes dry quick in the dryer. I have the model 110.21102010 Only thing I don't like is the lid locks during the whole cycle and it takes a bit longer to run a cycle compared to my old Whirlpool.

New WP belt drive

My in-laws bought one last month to replace a WP DD that was about 12 years old. So far, they really like it.

Here's a nice Youtube video of the washer in action, and it explains how to defeat the lid lock.
