To all them there Hotpoint fanatics. I'm creating this thread to provide replica's of the older Hotpoint series AutoWashers/Washer Dryers & Tumble Dryers.
Anyone who fancies a challenge, feel free to attempt recreating/reconstructing the controls of any Hotpoint, from any model range, anywhere from the WDD960 Washer Dryer era, all the way back to the Microtronic series era. Feel free to cheat, from the template point of view, i.e. using the control panel from a Hotpoint user manual PDF, from the internet to help you along. I'll post 03 examples to start you off. Enjoy, & good luck if you're up for the challenge. CJ |

Hi Jacob, All you need to get you going is MS Paint, a basic, but perfectly adequate program, & a Hotpoint user manual PDF, from Hotpoint Service.
But Yes, I'll do a WM41 replica. Remember, if you recide to attempt a go, yourself, remember to save the replica as a .BMP, 24 bitmap format, as this retains the correct pixel colours that you used in the reconstruction. I only recommend the .bmp, because I work on a technique called Pixel Perfect, where I ensure the pixels are the intended colours, to which, if saved as .JPG, this format screws up the pixel colours, as you save it. I taught myself how to do these replica's, & now have over 300 PDF's of various branded washer user manuals, of various countries, not just the UK, you just need to know where to look. Good luck if you try yourself, if you want pointers, or help locating UM PDF's email me, (my email's on my profile page). CJ |

Hi Jacob,
I'm working on your Liberator Replica as requested, so you needn't worry whether I got your message. I've had a migraine since Saturday, & this evening (Tues 03rd April), have been sat in the garage/utility, filming. Your Liberator AutoWasher'll be posted shortly, along with the matching dryer and a combi Washer Dryer too. CJ |

Hi Brandon,
The Hotpoint Super DeLuxe 1900 Washer Dryer, was one I created myself, it was a hack together design I made, with elemants from the Aquarius Ultima DF31 DishWasher, Ultima WM35 AutoWasher & Aquarius Ultima WD41 Washer Dryer. The information on the VFD (Vacuum Flourescent Display) was an addition that I've used on a number of my designs, other than this model. I have a range of machines under the name Technuova. (These're not real models, the Technuova's!). If you're on FB, send me a friend request, & I'll add you to the group that has all my Technuova ranges housed within. CJ |

If the 1200 version, has more than the model number WM53, let me know Brandon. Anyway, here's the AutoWasher version. If you'd like the Tumble Dryer version to complete the set, Brandon, let me know! Craig, your relpica requests're on their way next! |

Hi CJ! Thanks for the replicas, the only extra thing with the WM53 and other WD/WM series is that it doesn't have that flower symbol before the final spin, unlike 95,97,99 series and it doesn't have a double rinse shower, but not that it is that important! Very good detail though!
Do you think you could do the Creda versions of the Aquarius WMs (Excel 1200) and the WM11? Cheers! Brandon |

Hi Brandon,
No probs, I'll get onto it shortly. As far as the details on the 01st Edition's're concerned, sorry, didn't realise they didn't have the softener icon on them. As for the rinses icon, it was the only icon I could find in my database of UM's, that didn't become mis-shaped when scaled down, that one's used on the Hoover Nextra range, but kept it's shape when very small. Thanks Craig,
For the pic of the knob, I changed the drying symbols for the doughnut shape icon for the stop position, I know the QW icon's in the wrong sector, but personally, it should be in the Cottons programme for the fast spin dry phase. In honesty, I've edited one pic of the knob, across most of the range of manual/mechanical timer machine replica's, saves time faffing about for each replica. The manual/mechanical timer machines seem to be quite a common appearance on Ebay, there's a WD22 up for £25 atm. My Grandma had the almond fascia/door/kick plate & light brown cabinet version from 03rd Jan, til October/November 2008, great machine, even though it was like your WM22, a 1000RPM model, I usually only allow 1250RPM+ machines into my category of “worth it”, unless it’s got a good visual design, below 1200RPM, I don’t usually bother with, but it was a convenient option at the time we got it, as the previous washer’d just given up, after 09 years of unreliable survice due to the bearings. The only prob we had with it was it tended to blow the main house fuse, so no lights, no sockets worked after tripping. It went to my Grandfather for a while because his laundry was being mixed up or lost at the launderette, when he got the WD22, Grandma upgraded to her 06 yr old Ultima WD860, which she's still got. We only ditched it because when it ended up in storage after my Grandfather passed, I had been scouting round for my Zanussi JetSystem WJD1667W, & at the time, Mum & Dad only allowed me the one machine, so Grandma & I were forced to ditch it through Ebay. The buyers, came from somewhere near Pickering, Yorkshire, not too far from where I actually collected my WJD1667W. The odd thing I noticed was that the dryer vent sort of hung down from the 12 o clock position of the drum, instead of being integrated into the drum/ddor seal, I noticed that unlike our WD22, the WD31 had the vent integrated to the doorseal. My “Categories for machines are as follows: 400RPM-1000RPM = WOT > Waste Of Time 1000RPM-1200RPM = T&G > Touch & Go (Depends on design) 1200RPM-1400RPM = Ok > Some’re better than others 1400RPM-1800RPM = Worth it (Depends on design & features required) When I've got my USB handy, I'll post a pic of the WD31 version. CJ |

Hi Brandon,
The VW/FW reference were the last few letters in the model code that you asked for the replica of. Some brands don't use letters in reference to colours like Hotpoint does, some refer to the features of the machine, or brand identity codes, like WPS on Miele washers, stands for Water Protection System. Hope that helps. CJ. |
